Still looking for new shiny toys, so feel free to make suggestions. Especially if they make for fun, janky combos. Just remember I am trying to keep it fairly colorless.
I've decided to lean the deck even more towards the janky combo side of things, so I really need to find a copy of Kark-Clan Ironworks and Steel Overseer. Meanwhile:
Oblivion Stone + Darksteel Forge works just fine for me - nuke the opponents' boards once while protecting mine and move on. What you're talking about is an unfun lockout move that I've been on the receiving of before. Not that I don't have infinite combos, and not that Larry Niven's Disk won't necessarily make it in eventually, just I don't want to be that guy at the current moment.
This is not a necro (I have been playing the deck the entire time), but even if it was, Glissa would be happy to facilitate in the recursion. I've made a few changes, but nothing major, as the basic shell has been working great.
The colorless lands are quite welcome here, as they offer additional utility with no drawback and don't require a dedicated slot in the deck.
I have to say, that in a game this past week, Shimmer Myr proved to be one of the best cards in the deck. It allowed me to respond to multiple things throughout the game, but none greater than at the end. One opponent tutored up Planar Cleansing and cast it, but I flashed in Darksteel Forge. The next turn, he tutored Ashen Rider to exile my Forge, but I flashed in Sculpting Steel as a second Forge and sacrificed the first so I could later recur it from the graveyard, which proved unnecessary, as both opponents suffered irrecoverable losses while I sat on a very powerful board - the game was over, and they both conceded.
Glissa hasn't seen as much play in the past year, but Kaladesh brought some new toys, so I dusted it off, made a few changes, and played last night. And killed everyone by flinging acorns at them.
The final turn, I activated Acorn Catapult 103 times and killed all of my opponents thanks to an overly-clunky seven card combo. Glissa plus Viridian Longbow and Thornbite Staff became an anti-squirrel machine gun, allowing me to keep getting back the Myr Battlesphere that I kept casting and sacking to Krark-Clan Ironworks, which both provided mana and untap triggers for the Acorn Catapult, thanks to Dross Scorpion. It was not my planned route to victory, but it provided a rather satisfying end to a three hour game.
The only Kaladesh card I drew (and used repeatedly) was Filigree Familiar, and it was amazing! I dropped it at least six time, which provided some essential lifegain and card draw, as well as sac fodder for other abilities (including Trading Post and Krark-Clan Ironworks at various parts of the game). I kept hoping to draw Noxious Gearhulk, but that will have to wait for another game.
I'll have to update my decklist soon, as I believe Glissa will be getting a bit more love in the near future.
Oh - and I don't know how I never knew about Skyshaper before, but I just acquired a copy and added it to the deck. That card is really good for both offence and defence.
Finally have time to update the decklist. Some of these changes are old and were never recorded, others are new. I've had a bit of a shift, dropping some of the cute synergy/combo cards for better general utility cards. Also, having swapped all of my decks to a commander "cube" where I reassemble decks from a box of 2,000 identically-sleeved cards has freed up some power cards that I didn't have enough copies of when I ran individual decks.
