Why not MD Beast Within? The main problem that it has is that you need to naturally run answers for the beast token. You already do, with 8 0/4 walls, DOJ, Wurmcoil Engine, etc. I would consider -3x Rampant Growth, -1x Dismember, -1x Elixer of Immortality, +2x Beast Within, +1x Explore, +2x .... That gives you 2 slots to option into something else that would help your board position, like Sad Robot (Solemn Simulacrum), Cultivate, etc.
I think MD Beast Within is not the way to go since I have better ways to take care of stuff right now the only usefulness I see out of Beast Within is for the Valakut matchup on top of Tec Edges. That is why I was thinking running 4 in SB. That is the reason for BW in SB I don't know if there are other reason for MD Beast Within. I could understand cutting Rampant for Cultivate... and Idk if i want to add in Solemen since I think I would have enough Ramp already....I would like to add another Explore.. Maybe -1 O-Ring +1 Explore - 3 Rampant + 3 Cultivate Im still not sure about Sad Robot I feel that he comes in a little late....imo
i really like the list.. I brewed (like 4 to 5 months ago) a similar decklist. Just that the difference was that i opted for a constant flow of threats (criatures), abusing of the overgrown battlement ramp with 8 defenders.
I used to run 24 lands, 4 explore 4 Harrow... and the rest criatures.. filling the curve nicely to have mid to late game consistency.
I must say that i like better your list, and what you ask about how to play it, well my opinion is that you really need to hit the wurmcoil/gideon/garruk to have a win condition. The only sugestion i would make, is saving @least 1 O-Ring & 1 Beast Within to crack the O-Ring your win condition is going to hit when it comes into play. Other than that, just seems fun to play (maybe your list is waaaay to control).

thnx i am buying it on tuesday just wanted to make sure that is a good list to spend money before i go buy it
I think it's a good concept, but the sideboard really should focus on fighting blue control decks.
The deck is basically a ramp deck with great fatties and good quality walls, and as such will probably fare well against aggro, but since you pack only a few fatties as wincon, you really need more than 2 thruns to combat UW or UB control imho.

I'm a Spike Vorthos - I love lore and flavor, but only if the cards are competition worthy.

I agree what do you think I should throw in to deal with Blue or Black. I put some swords in but what else?
I would probably use only one sword type since without SFM you really have no way to tutor for the one you will need... Also why Sun Titan? You really don't have to much to fetch from the graveyard other then a few targets...
I would probably cut 2- forest -2 plains and +2 swamp +1 verdant catacombs +1 marsh flats. Makes casting 2nd and 3rd dissmember a little less painful in a long game I don't think your mana base would suffer too greatly with these changes, and fetch lands could be another card to abuse the sun titans. Also, would allow for 2-3 memoricide in SB for combating Valakut and possibly DecieverTwin matchup.
It would be worth testing a 3rd thrun or even a single obstinate baloth instead of a single batterskull. Not saying it would be a definite change, but would warrant testing. With Rampant growth, you are looking to hit a 4 casting cost on turn 3 correct? If that isn't the case, I'd run 3 explore & 1 cultivate instead. Looking at your current build, you only have 5 cards with 4 casting cost(2 thrun, 3 day of judgement). The rampant growth doesn't seem to fit. That's my 2 cents anyway.
Heck, looking even deeper, I think stirring wildwood could deserve a 2 of spot in here with no real turn 1 play. I know it is a weak manland, but it can crash in after day, and it blocks a bird till they get a pesky sword out.

Well it was suggested to me.....to bring back the eight walls that I had originally in the deck but now i see that it warrants no use anymore...I thinking dropping the Titans....
Autumn's Veil might help somewhat with blue and or black.
Well it is a card to consider.....
So i have decided that with this deck I don't feel like I have anything that is a finisher in the Eldrazi deck the Eldrazi that came out really scared the opponent and most time makes them scoop but this deck is eh I mean there are really good cards but they just don't fit right when playing them so I decided that I am going to start from scratch..... it feels very iffy....
EDIT: I have to see what Prophet comes up with before i start from scrath

Actually keep the Titans in... I have been playing a G/W controlish deck because you sparked my interest and I actually ran into a couple tonight as well that seemed pretty interesting... I am going to help you develop this deck because I think you are really onto something here... I would actually think about adding Primeval Titan in the build too because with a Emeria, the Sky Ruin on the field it can bring back all your creatures that you might have had to DoJ or where killed in the early game...
I am going to go over my notes and post up a deck list tomorrow sometime...

that would be nice to have 2 swamps and a few fetches(really really hoping for enemy dual lands). It would be less painful... and wow i totally forget that Sun Titan said target permenant(thought it was creature) that would nice to abuse it on fetches..... Memoricide idk if that is pushing it but it is only one black i guess i have to try it...will keep in mind the extra thurn or obstanite....and no i had no real spot to put in for the spot that rampant growth had I just wanted to make the pace of the deck go faster so i put in a few Rampant Growth but i do like the Explore better.... Cultivate always felt wierd in the deck it would always come a turn late so i might put in Explore instead but same reason as always I was trying to build a deck with only the ___________ since we won't be able to use them in a month and this is the same for Stirring Wildwood in the original version i had 4 of in the deck replacing Razorverge Thicket but i noticed that it was leaving..... and hence why i replaced the walls with wall tanglecord so it can block birds.....
Birds of Paradise looks really good so i can get Black mana early game.....
A few thoughts...
There are some great 1cc spells that I maindeck in my version of G/W Control. Oust or Condemn, Natures Claim, and my personal fav Ancient Stirrings (which I use to dig for swords or a Spellskite, or land). My original list was similar to yours and I found that it was too slow, even with low cost ramp spells/creatures (BoP, Explore, or Rampant Growth). Squadron Hawk is too good not to use, especially with equipment in the deck. Also, it looks like this deck needs another angle besides removal spells and creatures/walkers. Card advantage in some form is required for success I think. I would add some kind of draw spells like Wall of Omens, or Explore or if you're really gangster Hunter's Insight. Garruk alone seems like not enough. I would also maindeck 2 Timely Reinforcements and dont hesitate to use those dismember's!
Bad excuse...Squadon Hawk is common. You can afford it. We are still playing with it and we are still playing all those cards til the end. If you want to discuss rotation...wait next month. Good luck without Squadon

cause right now my deck is really slow and I have seen some new mill decks with Jace's Erasure and Archivist and Memory Adept and it was so hard for me to ramp at all since i was stuck on 1 mana for like 4 turns and I saw all my land go by and then ..... it didn't go so well thats only one scenario
I am a helper mod so I am allowed to. I haven't gotten the fancy bolded title, but if you check the administration changes, you'll see that I've been added (plus the sidebars where the moderator names are shown). And no, if you're not a mod, you are not allowed to use the fancy red text.
About your deck, would you consider running wall of omens + overgrown battlement, it adds a lot of mana and ensures early threats.
don't worry about it
ever consider making large amounts of mana then blowing out your opponents with a large white sun's zenith at the end of their turn?
-
woops i didn't know.....will remember next time....original version had them but I would either have to tap out to play something and get hit hard next turn or I would just have to sit there what this deck needs is card draw not the one with Garruk but something other than Garruk like Hunter's Insight like someone said but once I get the last Garruk to try the MG version I will fully see the power of the Insight and I also want to add GSZ in the G/W version but I don't know have to wait for Prophet's version and see it probably be smoother....
-
if that created green tokens then I would totally do that with Bellowing Tanglewurn my dream since BWurm came out was to mass produce tokens and give them all Intimidate and attack and with the Green deck with Liege of Tangle I think I can
It looks like a good match up vs the meta at my FNM. It a little different than OPs deck.
This deck looks fast mana cost wise I would think you want Garruk in there since everybody has him but I want to know how this deck works out and good luck at FNM. A few suggestions: Tectonic Edge and that is about it.... and how do you feel about Norn's Annex I wanted to include it in my deck too.
EDIT: this deck is also really hard to end games it really needs a strong card and B/U is plain hard I like Asceticism but I don't know if it deserves a position in the G/W version
Are you allowed to use red if ur not a mod cause i read somewhere ur not supposed too but i maybe be wrong....

seems pretty funny to go:
"Your end step, make 15 cat tokens, untap, draw and beat for 30."
"You're end step, make 15 cat tokens, untap, draw and beat for 30."
that could be the alternate win con for the deck i need to find space..... and that means i don't have to go Birds with Swords
EDIT: wow that seems really strong....what about a deck with GSZ to get Overgrown Battlements and pack the deck with Wall of Tcord and Wall of Omens then just tap like 2 OB's play WSZ and make a bunch of tokens wow that seems strong okay this could be a deck on its own and add BOP and Llanowar Elves (I WANT TO BUILD THIS DECK) it might not be strong as i think it could be but it would be a fun deck and do you if there is a card that gives me Intimidate for white

exactly, and you'll get some pretty funny facial expressions from your opponent.

ever consider making large amounts of mana then blowing out your opponents with a large white sun's zenith at the end of their turn?

seems pretty funny to go:
"Your end step, make 15 cat tokens, untap, draw and beat for 30."

that could be the alternate win con for the deck i need to find space..... and that means i don't have to go Birds with Swords
