People say that he is no comparison to Thraximundar, but I think its the fact that he's built (heh) for an entirely different deck. He just needs support from tokens/recursion/counters to maintain any card-advantage you might lose to untap him.
This is merely a rough draft. I will be updating the list. Let me know if there are cards I have overlooked (I'm sure I have). I want this deck to become more of a synergizing deck instead of mostly "goodstuff"
When I saw this general one thing I thought to myself is that he'd be great with things that require tapping to do. Manriki-gusari is a very nice utility piece that takes care of enemy swords, jittes, greaves, and all that other stuff very easily and, in this deck, extremely cheaply. Paradise Mantle is similar but more of a wrath protection type of effect, can also be used to power large exsanguinates and the like. I'm not 100% sure, but it looks like you can stack the trigger of thornbite staff to get two untaps out of any creature you sac to grimbles. (You could chain that with something like hermetic study to make grimbles into a machinegun, for instance, though I don't think that would be particularly useful - ocular halo, on the other hand, is a different matter) While looking these things up I happened across second wind, which I've never seen before, and seems to give you an out for untapping him that might be considered for a super control build that doesn't have a ton of creature tokens to count on (though that seems unlikely).
Blade of the bloodchief adds a second +1/+1 counter any time you sac a creature to grimbles.
Seems like call to the grave would be good in a zombie-themed deck like this, though with oona and her swarm that might not be the best idea.
Needs moar notorious thong!
Ehem, also consider murder of crows(check the spoiler), and obsidian battle-axe?
Where is your FoW? There is also a tutor that costs 1B and sacrifice a dude, whoa name is escaping me. What ever the name is, I recommend it.

Along the lines of Elemental Mastery and Presence of Gond, I've been searching for a while now trying to find a blue or black version. Combos with this guy are harder to find than people think (at least one card combos anyway). Manriki Gusari, Paradise Mantle and banishing knack are, so far, the closest I've gotten to finding that kind of synergy.
Eldrazi Monument: One of those will be finding its way in here. Coat of Arms however has a really bad habit of backfiring but if I can find room I'll give it a shot.
If this deck works out the way I want it to I don't think I'll usually need cards like Second Wind or Thousand Year Elixir, but they are still very good cards for him. So I'll consider them.
At first when I thought about Rooftop Storm, I didn't think I had enough zombies to make it work. But I soon realized that my generals curve becomes 0, 2, 4 etc. My inner Vorthos says "play this".
EDIT@Ted Elderhi: My friend and I have found that Pact of Negation is pretty close to what Force does. And it doesn't put you behind in cards. We both used to own Fow's as well. We just didn't find it as good in EDH as it is in Legacy.
Now i could be wrong about this but rooftop storm says you may pay 0 rather then the mana cost when you cast a zombie spell, Wouldn't that mean that the death counters from replaying Grimgrin wouldn't matter and he would always cost 0 unless somebody kills the storm?

Very nice. Cool thing is when I'm ready to start dealing damage, I just sac the Alchemist. Another efficient zombie engine in the set.
I'm also adding Nim Deathmantle for it's recursion and combo potential.

Akroma's Memorial, accorder's shield, and sword of vengeance give grimbles vigilance so you don't actually have to sac to him if you don't want to (though I imagine you usually will).
