Man, good thing that pitchfork is "sharpened" or it wouldn't give the creature +1 power.... unsharpened pitchforks just bounce right off things!

It's so funny now that Blazing Torch CAN be held by Zombies and Vampires!

Dumb question, Parralel lives would put Hero of bladehold tokens into play tapped and attacking correct?

What's wrong with a Zombie or Vampire holding a Blazing Torch? How is that any different from a human holding a sword or gun?

DOUBLING SEASON!!!!!!!!!

Also, I think they printed Witchbane Orb just to remind us how much this format is going to suck without Leyline of Sanctity. The card's not actually good, they just wanted to remind us how much we wish we had that card by printing one that is so much worse.

But the only reason they aren't reprinting doubling season is because Planeswalker shenanigans. Hell, the price doubled with that new Modern format became official. I still remember people yelling at me how that card will never become anything. And now look at it... might as well be on the Reserved List ;~;

Really? The original token doubler has flashback, making it the perfect reprint for this set, but they just ignored it and made something new. Where is the love for the classics, people? *sigh* Whatevs.

Because that one helps your opponent too, which isn't a thing design likes to do these days.

The only card worth mentioning here is Witchbane Orb, and even then, I'm not all that sold on how useful it will be, considering Valakut will be rotating out. Leyline of Sanctity was OK in regard to warding off RDW-style burn and black discard effects, but unless mill ends up being incredible in the coming Standard like some people seem to think it will, I just don't see how something like Witchbane Orb will be worth even devoting sideboard slots for it.

Parallel Lives: don't like tokens, period. Token generation is, I reckon, a bit narrow and far too focussed for my liking. Card feels too 'combo-riffic' or play me in a dedicated deck.
One-Eyed Scarecrow: okay or okaaay. I don't like defenders or Walls.
Sharpened Pitchfork: not too bad. First strike is handy but the fact that this card reads to me as, "As an additional cost to play Sharpened Pitchfork, play a tribal Human deck.", I don't like too much. That notwithstanding, tribal and non-tribal decks with Humans will benefit from this.
Witchbane Orb: it's about time all colours had access to True Believer / Whatsits Mask. Unless Curses are a mainstay of Magic, this isn't going to be reprinted (*sadface*).
