As far as aggro goes, I've felt meh about a lot of the tribal themes (except for humans) so far. This is a new approach to a synergistic aggro deck that actually fits a low curve.
The idea of this deck is to swing with creatures that have solid evasion that will grow.
I'm not sure how prevalent or viable "Aggro Swords" decks are, but this would certainly be a version where that is possible (cut 2 Duskhunter Bats, insert 2 swords).
(Yes, Duskhunter Bat is a crappy card on its own, but it fits with the synergy of this deck very well. It's a 2 mana flyer which consistently comes down as a 2/2 that can be proliferated.)
1 cost - 10
2 cost - 15
3 cost - 10
4 cost - 2
This deck builds well around Curse of Stalked Prey, of course, but isn't screwed if we don't draw one by second mana.
The deck is consistent by continuously dropping creatures that can connect over and over again. The damage rate also grows consistently whether it's a couple creatures boosted by Turn 5 or many creatures swinging together. Gambit refuels your hand and Volt Charge gets rid of most regular threats in the air along with 3 Go for the Throats to get rid of anything big in your way.
I worry whether this deck is viable against control because I'm not sure if it's fast enough by the 6 mana turn if your opponent gets off a counter or two.
My hope is that these creatures grow large enough consistently off Curse/Proliferate that they can stand against a control opponent's large threat if the game has lasted that long. Also, hoping, that the creatures are too big for BSZ and too many for them to draw enough spot removal. Day of Judgment always blows for aggro decks.
I could be wrong and this deck gets there consistently by mana 5. I'll do the math and edit below.
Edit: Sorry for the round-about weird post, but I've gone through a few examples of possible draws and, yes, this deck gets there on mana 5 consistently. Check the spoiler out for the examples.
Examples
Curse on Mana 2
1 - Vault Skirge
2 - Curse (1) VS 2/2
3 - Phoenix (4) VS 3/3 CP 3/3
4 - Olivia (6) VS 4/4 CP 4/4
5 - Olivia Ping 4/4 Volt Charge - OV 5/5 VS 5/5 CP 5/5 (15)
I think you are trying to lean to much on synergy between evasion and Curse of Stalked Prey and should look more into leaning on card power level. I was thinking of running a RDW variant using this type of setup.
It's just a rough outline but it takes the "counters matter" theme into account. The weakest slot on this decklist are the Phoenix's, I am thinking they should just be Arc Trails or Incinerates.
Here's my list. This deck attempts to use some of the more playable vampires as well as just some good aggressive drops then taking advantage of Curse of Stalked Prey, Stromkirk Noble, Rakish Heir and the synergy with Volt Charge and Tezzeret's Gambit. Opinions and criticism welcome.
The mana costs in the decks above are way is way to high imo.
My build is to going for the quick win. Highest mana cost is 2.
I have yet to test this so I may add 1 or 2 more curses in and swap the rats for tormented soul. I've been running tempered steel and I don't like having to count on getting the key enchantment to do real damage. I figure the initial creatures will get through and do about 10 damage and the direct damage can finish up once my creatures aren't able to beat past.
**EDITS:
Removed 1 Grim Lavamancer for a third Curse.
Removed 4 Typhoid Rats for 4 Tormented Soul.
Too many lavamancers on the board become a vanilla 1/1 for 1. The rats don't have evasion, the soul does.
Since everyone attacking besides the 2/2 for 1 Ghoul has evasion I added another creature pumping Curse.
I may take a page from Tempered Steel and swap the 4 Ghouls for 4 phyrexian mana Spined Thopter.
This will then be very solid for a 4th curse with every creature having evasion. Playtesting will tell.

I like the list but there are a few things i might change. Dismember is too good a card even when you dont run black. If you do its just stupid.
-4 shock
-2 Galvanic Blast
-4 Typhoid Rats
+4 Dismember is better than shock.
+2 anything other than Galvanic Blast, there are only 4 artifacts in this deck and shock just isnt that good. Maybe Volt-Charge as it deals 3 damage which is sweet but it also is crazy value if you have even 1 or 2 creatures in play with counters on them.
+4 any other 1 drop. there are better 1 drops than the rats. its a nice chump blocker but as stated your going for a quick win. He'll be getting in for 1 until you hit your curse. Reckless Waif is a good choice as it causes controll to play goofy the first couple turns making them tap out just so that he doesnt flip, even then he's still a typhoid rat it terms of power and damage he'll get across and when he does flip he's a 3/2 for 1. Or the Stromkirk Noble is another good option. Im not a fan of bump in the night but it is 6 dmg in 1 card and gives you a mana sink late game... Duskhunter Bat might be a better choice then vampire interloper just because he can block and your not tied into the vampire tribal at all. Your deck is so aggresive you'll just about always be able to hit t2 bloodthirst. I'd also recomend Hero of Oxid Ridge and Stormblood Berserkerbecause Timely Reinforcements is still a card. That would be uping your curve tho which might not be what you want to do.
Good luck brewing, hope this helps.
EDIT: I guess your goal was to use shock and galvanic blast to the dome to try and burn them out late game. In this deck i feel like that slot should be for removal so that your little guys can get through and get big from the curse. Just my 2 cents.
This is what I was thinking for a Curse of Stalked Prey deck. With this set up the deck will go crazy when Curse is on the field but it remains extremely strong without them.
And you should have enough mana lying around turn 4 to mana leak any board wipe that could happen. The other great threat is Dismember but honestly a Dismember kill a 1 or 2 drop who cares, the deck has plenty of backup. Vault Skirge also is great because of the lifelink and the immunity to Go for the Throat and I'm pretty sure Doomblade.

Yeah the 4 burn spells. 4 bump in the night (+flashback) and 3 lavamancers are all meant to finish ground stalls and more importantly give me a chance against control once a DoJ or BSZ clears the board. Thats why I don't want to swap direct damage for more creatures right now. I like the mix so far.
I played mono-white tempered steel before rotation and had to kill quick or not win against control. How I longed to be able to just throw a few bolts to the face to finish the game after a sweeper. Also it will be early game when I want to clear the way for the ghouls so I should't need much more than 2 damage to clear things out. I also have 4 removal spells that can kill titan-sized things. That may not be enough but I'm keeping it real general right now until some key tier 1 decks show themselves.
I did take out the rats though. I like all the evasion (something that made tempered steel good).
My current fears are Hero of Bladehold and Timely Reinforcements. All my creatures evade so the tokens foe TR aren't a problem but I may be reaching if they get multiples off in a game. The Hero is past my direct damage threshold so I made add a few more GffT or even... 2 Dismembers!
Ok, this is my first post and I hope I'm not bumping a dead thread here. Anyway, here's my BR Curse of Stalked Prey Deck with some improvements from Van Lunen's:
Traded out Falkenrath Marauders, because paying five for a 2/2 is a **** trade. Neurok Commandos were overcosted as well; although, I did attempt Neurok Invisamancers with similar results. The control elements were also thrown out, because they give you no way of dealing with threats already in play. In addition, many times I did play a mana leak, my opponent was able to pay the cost. Thus, all control elements were removed, in favour of proliferate cards, that also give card advantage and boost creatures.
Finally, I would also thinking of maybe remove all of the Stormblood Berserkers for Hero of Oxid Ridge and Signal Pest. Furthermore, if I had the cash I would dump the Flashfreezes for four swords from Scars.
why is tezzerets gambit here? If it's just for proliferate, then why not use the black grim affliction instead? I hear that in the current standard, a spell that must be payed with life isn't so hot. not to mention I'd much rather have a kill spell in aggro than card draw.
The control elements were also thrown out, because they give you no way of dealing with threats already in play. In addition, many times I did play a mana leak, my opponent was able to pay the cost. I highly disagree with some of these changes. Because with Curse of Stalked Prey all you have to do is land an early threat, I would rely even more on low-cost aggro creatures. You want to kill them before they can pay the cost of Mana Leak. This deck should probably be played more as a tempo deck than as an aggro deck. It is a good idea, though; I just think you have the wrong plan going into it.
Delver should be in the deck with 19 cards to make it flip. You need ponder, mana leak, and dissipate. The rest is your own choice on numbers and what to run, though this is what I would suggest. Good luck.
Edit: and don't worry about the swords, just kill them. If they can't block you anyway, you should easily have them at less than 10 by turn 4, which will allow your volleys to finish the job. And I know that this was originally just B/R curse decks, but maybe making it open to all curse decks would be a better idea.
Edit 2: I was actually wrong about Dissipate. This deck will hopefully not need it (otherwise you're in trouble). Personally, I would throw Snapcaster Mage in that slot (good early flash creature, good late game burn or counter) or Forbidden Alchemy (to search for a curse or a creature or a land), though upping the numbers on some of the other cards is a reasonable option as well.
I ran this deck a month ago at FNM and took first place. My Curse of Stalked Prey didn't arrive in the mail in time so I didn't get to use it. What I figured out was that it didn't need or want it. I just put in more removal which were never a dead card in my hand. As for havingTezzeret's Gambit, you wanna draw as you'll be consistently be casting spells as this is aggro and you don't really care about your life total. Here's my list...
Instant/Sorcery (19)
4x Ponder
4x Mana Leak
2x Dissipate
3x Think Twice
3x Volt Charge
3x Brimstone Volley
Lands (22)
4x Sulfur Falls
10x Island
8x Mountain
[/DECK]
Wow, I really do like the changes you suggested. However, I do feel that four of Invisible Stalker, Curse of Stalked Prey and Volt Charge instrinsically part of the deck. But, then again your suggestions really make the Runechanter's pike combo work. My sideboard would probably be the same, but swap out the flashfreezes for the Stormblood Berserkers maybe. Thanks BTW.
Been thinking about this deck ever since Van Lunen wrote it. It's certainly interesting and clever, but I feel like it's probably not quite enough to "get you there".
It's really too bad there's not quite one more white/red human in there that starts with counters. I feel like you could do fun stuff with:
But there's just that one last creature it needs to round out the bunch. Doomed Traveler could pump up Champion, generates a nice token creature.
You could always go with, instead, Midnight Haunting to get a couple of 1/1 fliers out there, just as they pass the turn... they would get pretty unruly after a turn and a proliferate.
