Ghave, the guru of spores and master of infinite. Upon release of the Commander precons I immediately was drawn to this spore. The following is a competitive decklist I've put together over the past few months.
- You enjoy incredible interaction with your General
- You enjoy going infinite (and many times not even realizing it!)
- You like colors that allow huge amounts of flexibility (more on this in a future update)
- You like to be competitive and consistent while not being a jerk
Falkenrath Noble - this is a tough one. It can easily replace Bitter Ordeal as a more tutorable wincon but is much more vulnerable. Pattern of Rebirth - Interacts with the deck with virtually every card (need to test) Profane Command - I really want this card to go in but I cant figure out what to cut...it would be a wincon, spot removal and recursion all in 1 card!. (+ I have an altered one lying around) Any suggestions? Mentor of the Meek - good card draw but I don't think it will make the cut but I will test! Skyshroud Claim - I really want this in but can't figure out a replacement. Suggestions? Three Visits - same as above. Suggestions? Dryad Arbor - can use early Green Sun's Zenith or Chord of Calling as ramp Imperial Seal - strict upgrade over a couple of the tutors but quite expensive and hard to find Spike Weaver
The goal is to update this post into a primer eventually. Please provide any feedback (or glaring omissions).
Kaalia's Army of AnnhilationRWB
Obzedat, Ghost Council - Life Gain MattersWB
Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord - Fatty Reanimator ToolboxBG
Nekusar, the Mindrazer - Draw to DieRBU
Marath, Will of the Wild - Token Pump and TapGWR
Roon of the Hidden Realm - Blink to BleedWBG
Privileged Position goes in and out, its a good card but its been a dead draw too many times (currently its out)
The other cards are honestly just too slow and clunky to even be considered for the version of Ghave I'm trying to play and the land is only marginally useful and I really like the current mana-base. Pattern of Rebirth is very interesting, I may have to test that. Nothing like fetching Rune-Scarred Demon (currently in the deck) to tutor for a final combo piece. Leyline of the Void is more of a metagame call, I do play against a Iname, Death Aspect deck that would be hurt by it but I can typically out race them or someone else at the table hates their gy.

Some cards I've been playtesting:
Pattern of Rebirth (so far I've loved it everytime I've gotten it)
leyline of the void (saved my ass so many times)
The other cards are honestly just too slow and clunky to even be considered for the version of Ghave I'm trying to play and the land is only marginally useful and I really like the current mana-base.
