Take out the wellsprings, put in 4 solem simulcrums, and then you'll have something like the deck I was running for the past few months.
I was looking at that, but I was feeling like I was really cluttering the 4-drop slot. I'll have to give it a go though. I just thought I should point the deck out again because it was solid Tier 2 before rotation and didn't lose anything. In the smaller cardpool that generally leads to a Tier 1 deck.

Wellsprings aren't going to be as good as other things in this list. You should probably trade them out for extra Tumble Magnets and a Mana Leak. Tumble Magnets can still be turned into 5/5s by Tezzeret, except that they'll do something useful.
Yeah... That list was really just a starting point. I'll update it. Thinking I'll up Wurmcoil +1, Etched Champion +1, Tumble Magnet +1 and Stoic Rebuttal +1.
Also, with the original line-up, I was really torn between Black sun and Ratchet Bomb. I ended up putting the BSZ's in for the list, but I'm not sure which I really like better. Any thoughts?
a certain 1U 2/1 flash creature from innistrad seems to be missing. whats the deal?
Congradulations! You love Hype! Now, back to real deckbuilding. I can't search for him, he provides little to no synergy and is rarely going to be what I need since I'm primarily dropping artifacts, not instants. He has no built in protection or evasion either, so he's not a great sword carrier even. So, aside from the current hype, why would I be including him?

the card is deemed 'the best card in the set' by billions for a reason bro.
if you dont think flashing in a creature EOT and grabbing a relevant instant to use that turn (counters / removal / draw / you name it), then untapping, equipping and smashing for 4 pro green, pro black, untap all your lands, and you discard is good, i really dont know what to tell you. (or equip with war and peace)
the synergy between snapcaster and 1 sword, REGARDLESS of whats in your graveyard is already god-tier incredible, let alone when you have the added bonus of extra card advantage via snapcaster.
cant search him? ok. whats your point. you cant search your other non artifact spells either, so why run them? this point is inherently invalid.

My point is simple. He's a creature I can't search for that doesn't fit the strategy who's only benefit is the ability to recur another spell that I can't search for or count on in the strategy. I'd rather invest cards that allow me to get to things and answers, than a pseudo card advantage that's more likely dead in hand if I see one. You need to read less of Neo's articles and learn to think for yourself man. Tons of people started thinking that on the new Garruk and argued with me till they were blue in the face. He's not even released yet and his price is halved though. Snappy I at least agree with. He's good. He's just not really good here. Adding him in means you're either reducing his targets, removing better sword carriers and taking out Tezz Targets, or you're removing Tezz Targets. Any way you look at it, you're taking out things that do more in the deck than he would to add him in.
EDIT: Thousands of people also thought that Time Reversal was the best thing ever and pre-ordered at $30 each. We see things like that all the time, it doesn't make it right. With Snapcaster, as said, I agree he's good. He's not so good he's mandatory though; he's not broken; and he's not for every deck. Get over it.

naw, you are definitely right. when my opponent has no creatures in play, and i have a sword of feast and famine in play, its usually a bad idea to flash in snapcaster at EOT, force them to either counter it (if they are playing counters, which ties up the mana that they would otherwise use on MY TURN to counter OTHER THINGS that dont cost TWO MANA), or drop a removal spell (have a mana leak in your yard? SEEMS GOOD HERE).
THEN! i untap, equip for 2. play stuff and things, smash for 4 (pro black pro green), untap all of my lands, then make them discard a card.

Let me give you some insight, since I essentially innovated this archetype single handed and you all butchered the damn name.
Here is some insight into Snapcaster Mage --> This card is the best card in the set, it is a staple in every format which blue sees play in, it has also been compared to the likes of Dark Confidant and Stoneforge Mystic, two cards that have been power players since they were printed more or less. In this standard, Snapcaster is almost comparable to Jace in the sense that the options it gives you might as well be infinite, and with infinite comes inevitability and with that comes wins.
If you think Mage is hyped then you have not played it, and if you have not played it you are a scrub and that is that.
You don't need to search for Snapcaster Mage with Tezzeret, you should be drawing him with your non artifact spells, because they are good spells and good spells go in good decks, and good spells in good decks are worth flashing back. Your rebuttal to this will be nothing but nonsense.
Further more, Tezzeret is an engine. Engines do what they need to do when they need to do it. Tezzeret has multiple options including turning your stale artifacts into beaters to pull out the attrition game for a win. He also helps you find utility cards when you need them, you don't always need them, that is why they are utility and not staples. End result? -1. If you are not making a 5/5 blocker in the aggro match to absorb damage and build a board state you are doing it wrong. If you are not digging when you need an answer, you are doing it wrong. Bad magic plays will always lose you games.
My articles? You tell me when you are writing articles that boost the sites hits as much as mine have and maybe you can then critique my articles. Tell me when you go to a 5k and place your brew even close to a top 32 placing with 400 players.
Garruk has lost hype because of the Mage. If you think new Garruk is bad then you probably think Elspeth 1.0 was bad. If you don't know how to flip Garruk and keep him alive you are a terrible magic player.
Back on topic of ripping you a new one though.
Not good here? Snapcaster belongs in every blade based deck running blue. You are wrong. He is amazing here. Even if you are not getting a card to flash back, EOT Snapcaster into a blade is brutal if it connects, the flash mechanic allows you to capitalize on misplays, even more so on a blade based strategy.
What was with Standard all year? Oh yeah, tempo control. Why? because it is the stone cold nuts.
Time reversal also had cards like Pyromancer's Ascension which was doing well at the time, in it's card pool. It was a card that actually held potential for a proven strategy at that time. This situation is completely different.
Snapcaster belongs in every blue deck. Why? Because you now have 8 ponders, 8 dismembers etc, all at your disposal. Half of them are on a 2/1 sword wielding body.
Your first step in becoming a good player is to understand how to effectively use your resources. Especially in a Tezzeret deck, because he is an engine for turning your resources into cost effective ways to in with extraordinary efficiency.
Stop playing bad magic and start playing good magic. It wins more often I promise.
i'd continue to point out the obvious, but its still the obvious, and you are still wrong.

Someone needs to go back to the Guru School of Magic 101
Snappy is good in a deck who has the tools to use him...adding said tools to another deck dilutes said deck with cards in an attempt to gain value of a card you could just cut in the first place for smoothness
same example I used in another thread, but with this deckless
4x Snappy now equals..straight from your professional " Tweeks"
how does this help a deck focused on a 4 drop walker and gaining advantage from a sword equipped on bodys found, or adjusted by said walker...I seem to miss your incredible insite?
That's because I'm 99% sure that's actually NeoItems signed up under a new account just jumping in to support his tronist because tronist is a good little boy that links every one of his articles for him since he was banned for ripping cards.
Instead of taking it into your own hands, report posts and do not flame back. Warning issued.

1U. end of turn 2/1. my turn. equip. smash. win life.
2UU mana leak. counter their spell, gain a 2/1. seems good. mystic snake anyone?
need a dude for next turn, plus card advantage? 2UU think twice. 2/1, equip, smash, win life.
2U + pay 4 life, dismember (or black instead of 2 life) their only blocker. get a 2/1. equip. smash, you discard.
HOW IS THIS NOT BLATANTLY OBVIOUS?
really.
if you run swords, and blue mana, you run snapcaster mage, or your deck is suboptimal. period.
it has nothing to do with the walker. the walker is fluff! snapcaster is a WIN CONDITION ON HIS OWN because of the MASSIVE amount of card advantage he brings to the table. you will turn games on a dime with plays like these.
but honestly, go for it. on page 40 of this thread, when you have 4 snapcaster mage mainboard, imma lololololol all over the place. that, or you'll continue to not see the obvious BONKERS GOOD COMBO of snapcaster + equip, and continue to run 0. either way, its funny.

My post has nothing to do with Tronist, he is doing his own thing. Whatever. I chimed in because you drive me nuts with your crap deck building. Tronist has nothing to do with me or my post. don't be silly.

Just wondering, what you think of Invisible Stalker? I realize that you cannot search for him, but he is nearly impervious to removal, and he carries swords like a champ. I think he is a worthy contender, but the fact that he can't be looked for by Tezz is a pretty big drawback. Just my own $0.02, and I love how people are just being dicks to prove their point. "You're wrong and I'm right and I am just going to plug my ears to your opinion!" Please.

potential, for sure. he works so well with swords. not being an artifact doesnt instantly mean hes bad. if being an artifact was the end-all-be all for tezz decks, they'd be land + tezz + artifact, with no non-artifact spells. the fact of the matter is, tezz decks CANNOT FUNCTION without non-artifact backup.
So what everyone is saying is that if I build a deck with 4x Snappy and a bunch of swords and instant/sorceries to gain value...I will win the internets?
Seriously, it sounds as terrible as FoW in every deck...even if it doesnt have blue in it
I agree snappy has huge value if you invest enough deck space to gain purpose other then flash 2/1 with hopes of swording him into an unblockable board
A deck needs a purpose other then playing awesome dude and hoping he hits my opponent
I like Stalker, it was a tough call between him and Etched Champion. In the end I picked Champion because he's searchable. They are both about even for resilience and Evasion and I could easily see either one working.

consistancy over flash in pan
Thanks for the support. I definitely love snappy and have recommended him in enough builds. I just really don't think this deck has the support for him and I feel that for this build there are just better options for evasion and resilience.

not the point. snapcaster is good with swords, and spells. his deck has both.

um. space!? its 4 non-artifact slots. not only that, you really only need around 12-14 artifacts, and he has 17.
A deck needs a purpose other then playing awesome dude and hoping he hits my opponent
you cant be serious with this statement. whats every creature in his deck then? thats like the entire point of 99% of the decks in standard right now.
play awesome dude, attack, deal damage, get them to 0 life, and win.
.......
except, with this, its
you play awesome dude, i lol all over the place because i just flash in snapcaster, counter your dude via flashback counterspell, then on my turn i get to attack you, untapping all the lands i had used (tempo is bad in magic, trust me, super bad. caw blade wasnt good because of mana efficiency or anything), then making them discard a card.
you play spell. i get a 2/1 and your spell is nullified. card advantage.
i equip my snapcaster and attack. tempo advantage.
i make you discard a card. card advantage, yet again.
how is this such a hard concept?!
oh, and flash IS evasion when they tap out. also, you dont need evasion when you can flash in your dude then flashback a removal spell for their only blocker.
How is 25 lands working for you? Also, wouldn't Doom Blade or Go for the Throat be better than black sun?
Right now the deck is mainly just conceptual on that end. 25 is a common number for this style of build. It should provide the right consistancy. Black sun and Doom Blade fill completely different roles. Doom blade is spot removal, where Black sun is a sweeper. Mainly I just tried to keep a diversity on spot removals and make sure I had a few sweepers to follow up when needed.

yea. what a sound comparison. mono red, running FoW is the same as blue decks with swords needing to run snapcaster because hes god-tier incredible.

Wow, insane advantage I see what you mean
I get to play a sword turn 3, do nothing on turn 4 as to have the mana to recast my mana leak, counter your spell, and swing on turn 5? thats pure tempo right there...just how my tezz likes it
and I am playign 10 rounds of this game? awesome!!!
That game plan sounds like draw go...with swords...not tezz blade aggro...but what do I know, I just won the internets for hooking up snappy with a sword
Look at Scg boston open...10 rounds. Whats the math on a draw that includes both a start that has tempo to beat aggro decks and push thru control? now add 4x Snappy....
Edit: It almost feels like with Ghost Quarter in the format we lose Inkmoths consistancy...maybe 26, uping basics to compinsate for the inclusion of the inkwrecker?

Do not flame other users. Infraction issued.
If you hate the deck, I'm probably playing it!
2UU Think Twice
2UU Mana Leak
2UBB Dismember, or using life
how does this help a deck focused on a 4 drop walker and gaining advantage from a sword equipped on bodys found, or adjusted by said walker...I seem to miss your incredible insite?

2UU Think Twice
2UU Mana Leak
2UBB Dismember, or using life
You are missing the instant speed 2/1 body that comes with those spendy spells sir.
Neoitems signing out!
WBG Karador, Ghost Chieftain
potential, for sure. he works so well with swords. not being an artifact doesnt instantly mean hes bad. if being an artifact was the end-all-be all for tezz decks, they'd be land + tezz + artifact, with no non-artifact spells. the fact of the matter is, tezz decks CANNOT FUNCTION without non-artifact backup.
Seriously, it sounds as terrible as FoW in every deck...even if it doesnt have blue in it
I agree snappy has huge value if you invest enough deck space to gain purpose other then flash 2/1 with hopes of swording him into an unblockable board
A deck needs a purpose other then playing awesome dude and hoping he hits my opponent
consistancy over flash in pan
Thanks for the support. I definitely love snappy and have recommended him in enough builds. I just really don't think this deck has the support for him and I feel that for this build there are just better options for evasion and resilience.
If you hate the deck, I'm probably playing it!
not the point. snapcaster is good with swords, and spells. his deck has both.
yea. what a sound comparison. mono red, running FoW is the same as blue decks with swords needing to run snapcaster because hes god-tier incredible.
um. space!? its 4 non-artifact slots. not only that, you really only need around 12-14 artifacts, and he has 17.
you cant be serious with this statement. whats every creature in his deck then? thats like the entire point of 99% of the decks in standard right now.
play awesome dude, attack, deal damage, get them to 0 life, and win.
.......
except, with this, its
you play awesome dude, i lol all over the place because i just flash in snapcaster, counter your dude via flashback counterspell, then on my turn i get to attack you, untapping all the lands i had used (tempo is bad in magic, trust me, super bad. caw blade wasnt good because of mana efficiency or anything), then making them discard a card.
you play spell. i get a 2/1 and your spell is nullified. card advantage.
i equip my snapcaster and attack. tempo advantage.
i make you discard a card. card advantage, yet again.
how is this such a hard concept?!
oh, and flash IS evasion when they tap out. also, you dont need evasion when you can flash in your dude then flashback a removal spell for their only blocker.
If you hate the deck, I'm probably playing it!
