Emmara is like the worst parts of Legends and Homelands got pregnant, aborted the fetus, tossed it in the trashcan, set it on fire and wrapped the corpse in a Dragon's Maze pack wrapper.
Skeletal scrying seems a tad rough, Necrologia while costs a bit more, doesn't hose your own yard. Contamination looks like a better hard lock then the infernal darkness, with the added bonus of sacrificing opponents reanimated critters. Just some thoughts.
Love Geth, he used to be in command of my current Drana deck (list in sig), then Homeward Path got printed, so I shifted. Since that card can cause so many problems, you might consider a few slots to deal with it like Strip Mine, Tectonic Edge, or Ghost Quarter (in a pinch). I don't like lowering the non-swamp count, but in this case it can be very worth it.
Petrified Field is another possible "non-swamp but worth it", since people will kill your Coffers. I even run Grim Discovery as another versatile way to get it back. I see you're running Yawgswill, that helps too.
Since you're making huge amounts of black mana, you might consider Drana, Kalastria Bloodchief and Helldozer as more ways to get the most out of it. Either one can be game winners with enough mana, and both get doubled by Rings of Brighthearth.
I like Reass Skeleton for abusing skullclamp, but you might also consider Nether Traitor for this particular build. With Lashwrithe (or Nightmare Lash), he goes from sac fodder to giant, beastly, unblockable beater very quickly.
@Helspont: The thing about Skeletal Scrying is that I don't really use my grave all too much. It's cheap and efficient too. I'll think about Necrologia but I've always found it too expensive. I know a lot of people like it though so I'll check it out.
@Blackjack: I actually think that Homeward Path is wayyyy overestimated. I find Geth to be considerably stronger than Drana in some ways while also being much more fun to play. I use to have a Drana deck back before Geth was released, and, though I liked it, it wasn't nearly as fun as picking and choosing things that belonged to my opponents to play with. Plus, half the time I take artifacts from them anyways.
Think about it this way: the only decks that run Homeward Path (usually) are those with a heavy creature theme, and those deck are generally easily handled by MBC. The Path is simply not worth a utility land slot unless your playing Animar or Karador or something along those lines.
You're probably right about the lands though. I don't like killing my swamp count but I probably will fit a Wasteland in here at least. I use to have Grim Discovery too... can't remember why I cut it, actually.
Emmara is like the worst parts of Legends and Homelands got pregnant, aborted the fetus, tossed it in the trashcan, set it on fire and wrapped the corpse in a Dragon's Maze pack wrapper.
I'm actually very surprised Extraplanar Lens is not listed. I play it in my real deck, I swear! Going to have to fix that.
To be honest, I usually tutor with the Machinations but sometimes when I'm too lazy to go through my deck and already winning, I'll extrapolate somebody.
I have considered Sorin but he doesn't do much for me. If anything, I'll probably lose Vess for him but I just love her DotP art sooooo much (favourite planeswalker art).
I like Bubbling Muck. Sometimes when somebody kills Geth Baby, I just cast and I'm able to replay him with minimal effort again. It also fuels huge X spells. I truly do think it's worth the spot.
Emmara is like the worst parts of Legends and Homelands got pregnant, aborted the fetus, tossed it in the trashcan, set it on fire and wrapped the corpse in a Dragon's Maze pack wrapper.
Are you only using Rings to infi with Basalt Monolith? Rings seems like a dead draw a lot of the time unless you're routinely hitting other people's stuff with activated abilities. I like the card, but I'd keep an eye on it in this deck.
Your only Skullclampable guy is the Skeleton, and he's amazing with Skullclamp, but have you found yourself ever having one and not the other? I'd also keep an eye on that. Otherwise things look pretty good.
I understand where you're coming for with the Rings, but I kind of like them. I should probably add fetches though, if I'm going to keep them in. They work well my planeswalkers though.
I'm thinking either I add in Bloodghast or I get rid of clamp and skeleton all together. As I posted the list, I realized Skullclamp wasn't that great in the deck.

Agree. You don't have a lot of stuff dying all the time with profit from it. It's probably not the best package for this deck. You could make it really profitable, but that would require a couple more cuts.

Along the same lines as Skullclamp, do you really have the creatures to support Grave Pact well?
There are a couple of cards I would suggest taking a look at as well.
Bloodgift Demon - Another Arena effect is nice and he gives a solid body as well
Moonlight Bargain - Awesome instant speed draw spell, almost like Fact or Fiction where you make your own stacks
Shred Memory - The best of the transmute spells in my eyes because actually casting it is quite reasonable and it gives you a very wide range of options when you transmute it. In your list you can get wrath (Black Sun), land (Arm. Sphere), removal (gfft), win con (Exsanguinate), or even any card (Demonic Tutor). If you make some changes to your list, there are some other good targets for it as well, like Animate Dead, Doubling Cube or Diabolic Edict

Okay, so I haven't updated this list in decades. Changes are due.
I mentioned earlier that I should either add in Bloodghast or remove Clamp and skeleton from the list. I have chosen the latter. I find the synergy to be fairly lacking so I've decided to free up a few slots.
- Reassembling Skeleton
- Skullclamp

So the two cards I'm adding are in my really deck already; a testament to the fact that I have not updated this in too long.
Another card that I mentioned that I would probably be taking out is Grave Pact. I have a pitiful amount of creatures in this list (that's how I like my MBC :D) and a plethora of other things I could add in its place.

+ Necrologia
Despite loving black, I've never tested out Necrologia before. My list is very control-heavy compared to many black decks I see listed here and drawing cards is something my version of MBC loves to do.
I was actually thinking of changing this list into Shirei at one point (thanks in part to Wildfire's suggestions) and I may still do it but for now, this deck remains heavy-control MBC. Another card I'm thinking of removing is Rune-Scarred Demon as he has just been sucking more and more in every deck that I play him in.
Suggestions as to what I could include in its place would be welcome.
Emmara is like the worst parts of Legends and Homelands got pregnant, aborted the fetus, tossed it in the trashcan, set it on fire and wrapped the corpse in a Dragon's Maze pack wrapper.
I agree with Rune-Scarred Demon totally blowing in my opinion. Usually when I cast him it is for the tutor aspect and I need to do something with my mana. I really dread using him now. I even got to use him with Kiki-Jiki a while back and that didnt even change my mind of him. He is sloooowwwwwww
Batterskull has seen some success in some of the mono B lists. The fact that you can bounce it and recast to get another chump creature is nice. It gives tons of lifegain as well which is great to offset the card draw outlets.
Bitterblossom gives chump blockers with flying for the low cost of a life per turn. The life loss from this is so much smaller than what you would give up to evasive flyers anyways. It has been good.

I have officially moved to MTGNexus. I just wanted to let people know as my response time to salvation decks being bumped is very hit or miss.

I'm going to cut Rune-Scarred Demon because he blows. I love the card and he has my favourite flavour text of all time, but man, he's an expensive Diabolic Tutor. And I'm tempted to cut Diabolic as is (always believed it to be too expensive).
Anyways, I'll add in Bitterblossom in its place for now. Sort of makes me regret that I just cut Skullclamp haha. This is turning into a sort of vicious circle. For now, I'll see how I like the enchantment.
Emmara is like the worst parts of Legends and Homelands got pregnant, aborted the fetus, tossed it in the trashcan, set it on fire and wrapped the corpse in a Dragon's Maze pack wrapper.
I'm thinking about changing this deck to a Vampire-tribal MBC as I am quite bored with the typical MBC shell at this point. Should I do it? I'd switch the general to Anowon if I were to do so.

only a few of the vamps you'd probably want to run are more than a few bucks, and like you said, you want to mix it up. And you could change it to be somewhat stax-ish too, with Anowon Grave Pact etc.
I would indeed probably make it staxish with mainly quality vampires at the helm. I won't be playing vamps for the sake of playing them, I'd just like to take the deck in a slightly different direction than the "OOOO me typical MBC, WOOOOO". Namean?

If you're running bitterblossom and tutors contamination is a good card. I've won a lot of games with that combo. Also maybe throw in a couple more tutors.

Contamination is good. I've tried in the past and if I do include a vampire package with Bloodghast as well, it will most definitely find itself back in.
What tutors am I missing other than the ridiculous priced ones like Imperial Seal and Grim Tutor?

In some mono black decks I like demonic collusion. Also since you're running Ambition's cost and ancient craving, devastating dreams is an option. Pitch a few cards put your combo on top with one of the draw 3 spells as the final top card and win.

But yeah, maybe. I've never liked the dreams simply because it requires such a setup. It's the same reason I hate Congregation at Dawn: so much setup with so much hate. Collusion I find much too expensive. I'm thinking of cutting Diabolic Tutor too, but in monoblack, we only have a few options so it's still in for now.
Still thinking about turning this into castlevania-type deal.

If you do go vamp, don't go down route of Anowon, a guy who plays at my LGS always has issues with his effectiveness. Drana is a lot more effective, even if she is vastly more main stream than any other vamp legend. Kalitas would be an offbeat choice who could also work.
I also play Weiss Schwarz, Chaos, Vanguard and Wixoss.

I've always loved MBC. I used to play a lot of it and SuiBlack back in my 60 card days.

P.S. I'll get around to updating how the deck works and all that jazz, but not right now as I am sleepy.

3 things:
1. Do you ever play Dimir Machinations or do you only use it to get to the good stuff: Necropotence, Phyrexian Arena, Yawgmoth's Will and Praetor's Grasp?

Generally, in a black deck, if I aim to abuse Skullclamp I add the "fodder package":
Nether Traitor, Reassembling Skeleton, Bitterblossom, Bloodghast
Throw in a few more decent 1-toughness dudes or dude generators like Coffin Queen, Fleshbag Marauder, Bone Shredder, Myr Retriever, Junk Diver, Pawn of Ulamog, Genesis Chamber a few sac outlets like Attrition and Phyrexian Altar, and a few dies triggers like Black Market, Gravepact, Extractor Demon, Butcher of Malakir, and you have the basis of a solid deck.
