The idea is drop powerful yet cost effective creatures. Most have flying or evasion. Then drop Edric, Spymaster of Trest ASAP and abuse his draw ability to fuel the deck.
my few experiences with edric decks is that even though he may seem like he encourages people to hit others, I always want to hit edric with my biggest guys and only hit others with 1 power dumb utility guys.
the reason is that edric is built to get on board very quickly and then draws a bunch of cards including counterspells. and thats very threatening. im not going to put my head in the sand and be like whoopee!! drawing cards instead of dealing with the guy drawing 5 a turn!!!

Agreed. I'm actually tuning up a deck right now, just to be able to deal with Edric's hyper fast bullshizzle. I had been adjusting my G/B Vhati il-Dal deck to beat Edric, as Night of Soul's Betrayal just owns all those 1/1s, but that didn't seem to be fast enough, unless I drastically upped the amount of spot removal to kill Edric as soon as he hit the table.
Now I think I'll go with spells. Volcanic Fallout is far from optimal in Commander, but it wrecks the face out of the Elf Rogue and his friends. Tibor and Lumia might make a triumphant comeback...
