It follows the adventures of a new Planeswalker by the name Dack Fayden. Dack’s not just a powerful mage but also one of the greatest thieves of his age. Unlike other thieves, though, he steals — he’d prefer to say “borrows” — not for money but knowledge.
Dack has a special power called psychometry. This allows him to pry into an artifact, figure out how it works, and teach himself the spells it uses. It also gives him visions of the most intense times the object has been used, which can be both horrifying and enlightening.
Where is it set?
Well, Planeswalkers move between worlds at will, and the comic reflects that. Dack often needs to stay a step or three ahead of the law or whoever else he’s annoyed, so he moves around a lot. He stays until he’s worn out his welcome — sometimes past that.
Dack’s current home base is an urban plane called Ravnica. However, the action in the story leaps over to Innistrad fairly fast.
Innistrad? That sounds familiar.
Innistrad is the new plane that was introduced with the current block of cards for the Magic: The Gathering collectible card game, on which the comic is based. It’s a place of gothic horror filled with vampires, werewolves, and loads of other monsters.
It’s also the place where someone Dack’s been hunting for a long time has been holed up for a while. She’s another new Planeswalker by the name of Sifa Grent, and as we find out in issue #1, she’s responsible for the destruction of Dack’s entire hometown.
I agree with this statement. I do like the Phyrexian one a lot more than the Mirran one, but I think I'll stick with my "What Color Would You Like Me To Beat You With Today?" and ":symtap: That Ass" shirts.
Well, i'm hoping she's decent, although she's responsible for destroying Dack's hometown. We dont know what her skills are, let alone anything else. Guess we'll wait for the comic. maybe get a preview of what she's capable of, because if Dack's going to be kicking her ass or vice versa, it's plausible she'll fight back with her own arcane knowledge.

GW doesn't sound like it fits the kind of person who would be behind the destruction of a town. I do think this further seals Dack in as UR though. Dealing with artifacts and the pursuit of knowlede is an obvious callout to blue. I can't say what would make him red as I haven't paid too much attention to what we've been given about the character. The only argument I can personally give is a rather weak one, looking at that picture in perv's post (I don't like your name) it seems he burned his way into that building. Weak reasoning is weak, I know.
Basically, if you want to open packs to get cards for Standard and Modern, the simpler approach is to just buy all the singles you need and then set some money on fire to make up the difference.

I was thinking the red comes from him going around stealing things, not caring about the laws related to other people's property on whatever plane he's on. I guess he's the kind of guy who's into the thrill of derping around, engaging in deviant behavior and stuff like that. Living a free and risky kind of lifestyle and pretty much not taking any **** from the man I guess. Not sure how strong that reasoning is either, but that's just my analysis of him so far.
I guess whenever a new set goes back to Ravnica, we'll see Dack Fayden... but most likely it'll be the Dack 2.0, whereas we'll see Dack in DKA or the third set (but most likely he'll be in the DKA - why introduce him so late in the game, so to speak... Right?).
Is it me or does he have that Aether Dagger Tezz used on Jace?
If Liliana is in Innistrad does this mean Jace may be here too?
Where is the storyline headed? Who had the Dagger last?
I'm confusing myself here but if the dagger is with that guy I hope it shows up as an equipment card because it would just be amazing.

Sifa Grent being "holed up" in Innistrad? Sounds like it's not her home.
I think we can say Dack isn't UR, since his hand gets visibly burnt by the fire protecting the Dagger that he steals.
He's an artificer, with the power of psychometry. He's using restraining magic on the dagger's guardian, and he prefers to "borrow" rather than steal. I'm going to guess WU, since WotC has been pushing the "White is not Good / Black is not Bad" thing for a while. His artifice and theft for knowledge seems very Blue. His want to not be identified as a thief / to not actively kill or wound those in his way seems very White. He doesn't seem ridiculously reckless and random like RU are.
The cream on the WU cake is his girlfriend in that cover; he obviously cares (about his necklace prize), but couldn't care less about the girl he's going for. One thing that rang true from MaRo's Azorius article was that WU is very emotionally detached. ;P
Now to Sifa...
She destroyed his hometown... and the common enemy of White and Blue is Red. That fits, Red loves just doing things, even exploding a village.
I can't help but think she's Black as well...
BUT BASELESS SPECULATION AHOY. Time to wait for comics.

GW doesn't sound like it fits the kind of person who would be behind the destruction of a town.
Perhaps she accidentally cast Overrun on a herd of baloths and in confusion they trampled over his town? And she was like "Well that was just nature being all natural. Bye, Dack, i am off to hide in some mysterious haunted woods!" Not GW of course, but mono-green enough.

I wonder if he destroys what he "borrows". Hopefully he has a Threaten effect on Artifacts.
Everyone knows that good luck and good game are such insincere terms that any man who does not connect his right hook with the offender's jaw on the very utterance of such a phrase is no man I would consider as such.

I highly doubt the minotaur in that art is sifa...
Yeah... I also doubt a minotaur can take refuge in Innistrad for very long.
Dack mostly like got his artifact in Ravnica... That's also the most likely place where the minotaur belongs.

No it does not. It does however increase the likelyhood that one of the two will appear in the block, but it proves nothing.

Sure, why not.
If Dack Fayden has some special ability, maybe hers is to stimulate mob mentality, especially if she's GW.
Yes, because white is always responsible for the destruction of planes.

That Minotaur really does look like a Minotaur, but I can't seem to find the name-tag on it that tells you it's Sifa.
I'm no Psychologist, but I'm fairly sure Zombies and Werewolves are enough for a mob mentality.
