Karrthus has flying and haste and kills in three hits. Drop a damage doubler or extra combat phase, and he kills in two.
Assorted other guys that like to swing. Ramp. Skullclamp package. Tutors. Utility and goodstuff. Potential for infinite combat phases. Random kills via inkmoth nexus and putrefax.
Ok sorry about the slow response. I figure late is better than never.
A few iffy cards:
Nature's Lore / Three Visits / Farseek I have never really been a huge fan of the 2 mana ramp cards for green. Yes they go off quickly but they dont have a lot of staying power. You have a lot of artifact ramp effects already as well. I might consider like Solemn Simulacrum and Skyshroud Claim perhaps as they give a bit more card advantage and ramping one land at 2 mana isnt as good when you are shooting for 7 mana for your commander.
Needle Specter / Hypnotic Specter Personally I have never been a fan of the specter effects. They are easy to block / maze / kill and they are really good at making enemies but do relatively little damage to people in comparison to the hate they seem to draw. If you want to run a Specter I would suggest Blazing Specter due to the haste he has. At the very least he is a surprise attacker.
Hystrodon I havent really seen him get much of anywhere outside of a Stonebrow, Krosan Hero deck. He just doesnt hit hard enough to really do much. I guess if you are lucky he will draw 1-2 cards but he just seems underwhelming when I try to see how much he would accomplish. He is sort of meh when you draw him off the topdeck on turn 10 which I dont like.
Putrefax I.... didnt really see any other poison outlets in your deck.... I dont know what this is really doing in here. He tends to get included more in like memeoplasm and rafiq decks where he has a little extra synergy. I just dont see him doing much in here.
Charnelhoard Wurm he is slow and draws tons of hate. In my mind you might as well just run Avenger of Zendikar as if people let you untap with him again they die. This guy just draws a lot of hate in comparison to what he really gets done. Also as a side note... Soul's Fire allows you to tear people up with the wurm as he triggers when he does damage not combat damage so you can just keep paying 2 mana for 6 damage of output to someone's face. It kills very quickly if you want to try it.
Inquisitor's Flail ehhhh not that impressed. You have a lot of better effects in the list already in my mind.
Dense Foliage I used to run Steely Resolve when I used to rely more heavily on Karrthus. It might be a decent trade out but its your call. The downside is that you cant equip him or anything but it is already on him when he comes in so there is no in response I blow him away BS. One downside of the Foliage is it helps opposing creatures be shrouded as well which kind of sucks.
Furnace of Rath the worst of your damage doubling effects. I think you have enough you might consider cutting this one. I dont like how it helps opponents as well.
Avatar of Slaughter I usually see this a bit more in a creature heavy deck. I dont know if you can really capitalize on it that well. I have also seen this thing backfire a lot so be careful.
Night's Whisper drawing only 2 cards feels sort of weak. You could try Syphon Mind or Harmonize which draw another card without the life loss if you want.
Mind Twist this card is sort of in between. I personally dont like having to pick out an opponent to hit with this. However it can help stop someone from winning it all depends on the situation I guess. I tend to like the mass everyone discard their hands over this though.
Overall I think you might want to pick up sort of a plan B as well... You have some tutoring so you can go get Karrthus if he gets tucked and some decent ramp going to keep casting him. Mass LD will still be an issue for you though just because of your dependance on Karrthus. You might consider something like Ritual of Subdual as it is a temporary shut out of colored mana from land which can screw a lot of people and give you some time to just do damage with Karrthus.

I have officially moved to MTGNexus. I just wanted to let people know as my response time to salvation decks being bumped is very hit or miss.
Thanks much for the reply. Here goes the reply-to-reply phase.
2-drop ramp: I don't expect a deck with a 7-mana win condition to be fast, but I'm trying to make it as reasonably fast as I can.
Specters, hystrodon: Yeah, hypnotic is kind of whatever and just tossed in. I'm addicted to using Needle Specter in aggro edh decks. I like equipping/giving double strike/multiple combats with these guys that trigger when they hit somebody, and it makes those effects more worthwhile than if the only thing in my deck that can use them is The Big K. But maybe they are just cute and actually bad.
Putrefax: You really don't see it? If I have a damage doubler or rage reflection and someone doesn't have a blocker, death. If I have double damage/strike on top of some other equipment or doubler or pump, then Putrefax is almost guaranteed to take someone out.
Charnelhoard: Yeah, he is clumsy, should probably go. I just really love the card.
Flail/Furnace/Avatar: Basically just trying to guarantee Karrthus kills on the second swing. If I can get two of these things going on, he'll kill in one turn. Furnace and avatar are very backfirey though, it is true.
Dense foliage: Really awesome. Only turns off a couple of my cards; protects K and still lets me equip/seize the day/etc.
Night's whisper: Pretty happy with it. Will likely keep it and add more draw for other things.
Primitive justice: But you can spend red AND green on it! I will probably keep it and add spree.
Mind twist: Gets pointed at combo players, as I can't really race them without something like this. Would like to add head games and mind shatter.
