MTG Salvation

I have a deck together in real life that I really enjoy playing (Rith in my sig) that is designed around several of the pieces of the "Lands" decks in Legacy. Since there aren't any universally legal 4-color commanders, I decided to cut out black from my options in that deck, rather than going to a 5-color. I started to durdle around with different things on Workstation one day, seeing how I could explore a land-centric build using the black in the mana base (essentially just looking at a Worm Harvest focus). I almost assuredly would be better off with some green in the deck as well (since now I can use Worm Harvest), and if I'm running a land-centric deck, I'll need a really good reason for not including Knight of the Reliquary. That left me at WBG. Since I have a similar deck in real life that I don't plan on taking apart, I decided that this would be a deck designed solely for online play (thus removing any budget from consideration). I began crafting the deck with the intent of using Doran, the Siege Tower (he's a freaking tree after all), but I again looked at my unfinished list of cards I was brainstorming, and had very few creatures as it stood. I had Life From the Loam and Worm Harvest as my focus, a dredge sub-theme to get more lands to the grave, and my buddy Hermit Druid to fill the grave with dredgers and nonbasic lands. With that I changed my commander to Teneb, the Harvester, to recur anything I wanted from my grave, as well as giving me the selection of everyone else's as well to supplement my own creatures. That left me with a list similar to the one below:



There are some great things about the deck that I want to bring forward:

Your primary win condition is Worm Harvest. To aid with this, you have fetchlands that go to your grave. You have the full complement of on-color cycling lands. You have dredgers. The list is running Cultivate and Kodama's Reach over things like Skyshroud Claim to make sure you have lands that remain in your hand to retrace with. You also have the copy of Gavony Township, which makes your uncounterable token army uncounterably bigger.

Your secondary win condition is using your beaters, or using beaters taken from your opponents' graveyards. To aid with this, you have your standard Primeval Titan+Avenger of Zendikar, the classic Verdant Force overwhelming force, and potentially giant beaters like Terravore and Knight of the Reliquary.

Bazaar of Baghdad lets you gain card advantage similar to the way a Vintage dredge deck would, since you have a large ability to interact with the graveyard. Both the dredge mechanic and the fact that this is a land lets you gain card advantage without the threat of counterspells.

Ob Nixilis, the Fallen is crazy good with so many lands entering and leaving the battlefield. Combo him with a Scapeshift and he's scary. I included all of the on-color fetches to interact this way, but I may want to up that count to the off-colors as well.

Dredging is pretty great when you're trying to get lots in the grave. Who'd of thought... The dredge package (Hermit Druid, Mulch,Dakmor Salvage, Shambling Shell, Golgari Grave-Troll, Stinkweed Imp) helps to activate Life From the Loam (also a dredger) and Worm Harvest. Flipping them into the grave essentially is the same as drawing them for this deck. Getting your Vengeful Pharaoh there makes him into a removal option as well.

You've got Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth+Cabal Coffers. You can make lots of mana. I'll also mention the utility of Scapeshift here as well, along with Realms Uncharted. Make your opponent split a grip with Urborg/Coffers/Petrified Field and you'll laugh.

Genesis and Tortured Existence Oversold Cemetery are pretty great with your dredge cards.

Loaming Shaman and Krosan Reclamation are in as a contingency, in case you get close to decking yourself. Also, the Reclamation allows you to fight grave hate to a degree by protecting your key pieces from exile (even though they end up back in the deck).

Druidic Sachel even without any library manipulation in pretty great in the deck. It often acts as repeatable ramp, at a very affordable price. Paired with a Sensei's Divining Top or a Sylvan Library it gets really crazy, really fast.

The deck contains a Spore Frog and Kami of False Hope. These are to try to help you live. You also have access to Glacial Chasm, Kor Haven, and Maze of Ith to help with this. These are all easily recur'd with the commander, or the engine the deck runs on.

Aura Shards acts as the primary, catch-all artifact/enchantment interaction. With a billion worm tokens entering the battlefield with Worm Harvest, you can selectively wipe the board of them whenever you feel like.

I have a copy of Overgrown Estate in here, which is (in my eyes) the most questionable inclusion at the moment. This may be better served as a Damnation/Wrath of God. I'd love to replace this with an Earthcraft, but I feel like it wouldn't be giving me any value until I already had my engines up and running.

Honestly, this list can run with Karador, Ghost Chieftain as the commander as well. I choose Teneb to allow for evasion on my general damage back-up plan, but Karador would work very well with the excessive dredging that can go on. I'd love to hear any feedback that anyone has for me. And as always, thanks for taking a look.

You're playing b/w/g, in my opinion the color combination with the best access to removal. Overgrown Estate, Kami of False Hope, and Spore Frog can all become mass removal. Wrath of God, Damnation, and Pernicious Deed will all do better keeping you alive. Also, consider more cards with flashback. Chainer's Edict and Unburial Rites don't mind being dredged away. You might consider Ground Seal as a means to protect your Wurm Harvest. Overgrown Cemetery seems a lot better than Tortured Existence.

I believe the previous poster meant Oversold Cemetery, which is a suggestion I'd agree with. You can also feed the yard with Survival of the Fittest.

I had the Tortured Existence in there because of its interaction with the dredgers in the deck, but I agree that the cemetery is probably an upgrade in most ways. If I can find some space for the Survival as well, that will also keep me with a discard outlet for the dredgers to keep re-using them.

I'll definitely find some room for a Wrath of God and Damnation, but I think I want to keep the Spore Frog and Kami because I can so easily re-use them. Also, if I can get that Survival in there, that will let me search up the fog effects whenever needed.
