Sphinx is usually what I want to reanimate second if not first and unfortunately we only have 4 entomb. I figure I'd rather have more consistency than variety and side accordingly.

Does Sundering titan effect duals? I was under the assumption that only basic lands are effected.

Yes it does. I'm curious about it because it will really destroy 3 color decks like RUG, which is, to me, our worst match up. I don't want to waste a slot if it isn't worth our time.

Cards like Bayou count as both Swamp and Forest. Sundering Titan chooses basic land types, not basic land cards.

I was using sundering titan for awhile, but against RUG Sphinx is actually an instant win where titan is just sort of cute and against Bant/Punishing Mav decks that might run 3-4 colors he's too fragile to their removal. In the end he just wasn't worth it to me so I changed his slot.

@jaykruger
I play 2 spell pierce main and i highly recommend it. I even had 2 in the sideboard but they were replaced by flusterstorms, which I'm seriously considering switching the flusters out for the pierces I had in originally. I find spell pierce often relevant in almost every match-up.

What did you take out for them? In place of thoughtseize I assume?

I'm playing my reanimator deck for the first time in a legacy tournament this weekend and I'd appreciate any constructive criticism.

Deck
Creatures
1x Empyrial Archangel
1x Sphink of the steel wind
3x Jin-Gitaxias
1x Elesh Norn
1x Iona
1x Angel of dispair

Spells

4x Exhume
4x Entomb
4x Reanimate
2x Animate dead
4x Daze
4x Force of Will
4x brainstorm
4x Careful Study
2x ponder
2x Thought Seize
Land
4x U-Sea
4x Poluted delta
2x swamp
2x island
2x Scalding Tarn
1x Verdant catacombs
1x marsh flats
1x bloodstained mire
1x darkslick shores
Sideboard (need to reduce by 2 cards)
3x Show and tell
2x thought seize
2x Spell Pierce
1x flusterstorm
1x wipe away
2x Echoing truth
3x pithing needle
1x Inkwell leviathan
1x Blazing Archion
1x terastodon
I'm tempted to remove the ponders and replace them with 2 more thoughtseize's in the main. I just don't like ponder that much. Thoughts?

Go -1 swamp,-1 ponder, -1 thoughtseize, and -1 animate dead; then +2 spell pierce and +2 personal tutor. I considered personal tutor but the fact that it didn't find entomb turned me off, but I have had those rare situations where I can't find a reanimation spell and gotten Jaced or some other ridiculous situation so let us know how it workout for you.

@420
add 2 spell pierce instead, I find them immensely indispensable.

The only way to play person tutor is to play [CARD]Sensei's divining top[CARD] with it or it becames too slow... The only problem is that ponder is blue and we can pitch it and ponder is great whit braistorm to put away bad cards from topdeck.. I think that in a meta with a lot of discard effect or hard control deck sensei-personal should be better. In this aggro-control meta or pure aggro ponder is better because it is faster. Another card that I'm testing and it is really great is misdirection[CARD]misdirection[CARD] because we can use misdi in counter war as a force or to redirect StP (on a geist, a kotr...) and other spell like surgical extraction....

I would much rather have pierce than misdirection. I think between the brainstorms and careful studies SDT isn't necessary.

I always seem to go back and forth with 17/18 lands usually on account of losing a round or two to wasteland, so I am on a 3/2 basic split right now, could consider dropping one of the black only fetches. So i'll test with 2 Spell Pierce and one personal tutor.

Can we just have mystical back please....
kidding.... sorta
