Default Blood moon in vintage

Hey all.
I'm new to vintage, and I play only on mws. I see that the top decks are always some combo-control with blue and wacky mana bases, Mishra's Workshop decks, Dredge and recently the hate bears deck. Is there any deck that abuses the format's nonbasics with Blood Moon effects and Null rods? seems like it would be good against most decks, if rounded up with some artifact removal and maybe relic of progenitus and chalice of the void, as the AIR deck that people played in extended before extended rotation changes.
Thanks for helping, please send me a list or link if able!

There's also a thread here on mtgs, but the discussion is kinda sparse.

Mark Hornung's new Slaver Deck, as seen in his latest SCG article, has Blood Moon in the board.

The problem with Blood Moon and Magus is that most of the more solid decks can play around these cards, fetching up basic lands and simply functioning on a slightly resticted basis but still able to do ridiculous things nonetheless. It certainly cuts off many key strategies such as Bazaar but they often don't come down on turn 1 or 2 when they can be very restrictive. If these cards are played maindeck, there are many answer cards that come come in off the sideboard, notably Nature's Claim and creature hate to deal with the Magus. I think that Moon out of the sideboard is much more effective.

Check Mondu's links even though they are old, they seem to contain reasonable information. Offtopic, Vintage threads can retain information value for several years as the format is so slow to change.

There are several decks that use Magus and blood moon in vintage, most notable the mountains win again (or the plateau's win again if they splash white) and Christmas beatings (red/green). these decks run several cards along with the moon effects to maximize the hate they put on the common decks in the format (chalice of the void, null rod ect) They also run spirit guides to make first turn moon effects much more common (mountains win again runs spiriy guides AND ancient tombs/City of traitors) It's very very common for a turn one moon effect in these decks.

A recent event in my area was won by a gentleman named John Jones who piloted a version of Christmas beatings, defeated a landstill deck piloted expertly by one Paul Mastriano....so these decks definately can be competitive if not top tier and if you dismiss them outright you will be in trouble when they are sitting across from you at a tournament
