Members and Friends at MTGNews
Xenphire
We are a loose association of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered and questioning gamers and those who are friendly to them.
Due to ultra-special-super-mod-tech we have been granted a special circumstance in which all of the members are allowed to be part of the "Gaymers" and continue to be a member of their normal clan.
Feel free to say whatever crosses your mind so long as you play nice. Don't troll or flame because I will personally come over there and do un-Christian things to you, and then I will report you to the moderators.
We want promote a fun and accepting environment for anyone who wishes to post here regardless of race, gender, sexuality, or politics. Anyone wishing to be listed as an official member or friend please say so and I will add you promptly....
HAVE FUN!!!
To celebrate the anniversary of the day we
became a clan,
I thought it'd be cool to take a walk down memory lane, starting with the thread that started it all.
So share some of your favorite memories of Gaymers.
How'd you find us?
What was it like when you joined?
Hell, I don't even remember when I found you kids. Or how.
but I do remember going "hey, new people to talk to!" and...well, the rest is history.
Yay, anniversaries! I'm excited for mine, haha.
Anywho, hot guy of the week, eh? They're pretty nice boys.
I don't have much to say, other than...first post? maybe? lol
I might get to meet about half of mikey's family tomorrow. This ought to be interesting. Sehr, sehr interresant. 11 people. Of which, I've met four. Mikey's parents, his two-year-old brother, and Mikey. Oooh boy. this ought to be fun.
I love how we're planning things for the future, when really, the future's totally unclear. At least we're being optimistic? idk. O_o;
End!

It's Adam Brody, everyone's favorite indie-emo-Jewfro-beanpole-geek from The OC. He was in a bunch of other stuff, too, but he's pretty famous now so I don't think I have to explain who he is.
Enjoy.

Happy anniversary gaymes! In honor of this night, I went to FNM and had a good night! Check this out:
I won with a U/B deck that uses Mortivore as the win condition, and discard and mill (Glimse the Unthinkable) as the enabler. THEN, I got a FNM Lobotomy AND FNM Terminate because the Terminate was left over from last week, and THEN I bought a box of Guildpact and opened ALL THREE of the Guildpact dual lands, as well as other bombs
And then I went and ate at Denny's with my friends and came home. Best friday I've had in a long, long time
BTW, Mikey, do you mind adding me to the members list? I've been taken off, I forget why but it was probably something stupid I did. Thanks in advance

I took you off and put you on a special "members/friends at MTGNews" list.
Oh, okay. Well, since I'm unbanned I wouldn't mind being put back on the members list here I don't post much anymore, but then again I don't post much of anywhere anymore
Basically, I dislike the inquisition against good cards after a good block comes out. It's like Urza's Cycle -> Masque Block... Mirrodin Block -> Kamigawa Block... See my point of view?
I thought Kamigawa was great. It's not an "inquisition against good cards," it's "that was way overpowered, if we have to keep topping that we'll end up reprinting the power nine, lets make something more reasonable."
Kamigawa block for me was what Masques block was for players after Urza. I got so bored with it I eventually just quit paying attention and didn't even want to play with it anymore. As you see if you read my last post though, I think Ravnica has found a very good balance and am back in the game now
Well, hey.
I didn't expect a new thread so soon. Then again, the old one was huge (and I didn't know when the anniversary was).
As for when I joined the community - that was only a matter of days ago. Anyone could still see it on the last thread, I think page 95 or something. A very short trip down memory lane.
All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to be the light that you see. All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to be the peace that you feel. All that I yearn for, for richer or poorer, is to fill your heart on my own.
But the rainbow is an image of hope for many reasons, as it is a brilliant sight coming out of oftimes dismal weather.
I likes geeks too. Actually, a guy I really have the hots for is a super geek. He is into robotics and game programming (C++, BABY!) He's a socialist like me.

Still no computer.(This particular message brought to you by the good people at Hijacking Friend's ComputersTM. I think the twins--the friends whose computer I am currently using--are in the other room Winston Drafting, as they are wont to do on occassion (every single day).
Goatchunx- I brought it up in the last thread, and you mentioned something about it, and I wasn't able to respond, so I suppose now is as good a time as any:
I am against the mandated positive portrayal of GLBT people in history for the same reason as I am against the mandated positive portrayal of whites, blacks, hispanics, Christians, Muslims, Jews, Asians, et al: doing so selects a given group by sole virtue of the group's existence and oppression. Yes, there have been many homosexual people who have done great things---Walt Whitman comes to mind---but that does not mean that every homosexual that has ever existed has been a positive influence on the world, and should certainly not be portrayed as such.
Further, as a Libertarian, the idea of the state forcing children to be taught---most likely against their parent's wishes---about homosexuality (or really, sexuality at all) is abhorrent. The influence of homosexuals on history does not quite fall into the reading-writing-'rithmetic paradigm.
And lastly, it is entirely superfluous. If there exists a homosexual in the past who has had a big influence on history, they will be duly featured in a history course. The state need not mandate the purchasing of separate text books (as they have done) for the sole purpose of educating the students on homosexual history.
C++ is fabulous because you can actually change values in memory, which means that you can do anything. On the other hand, you get to figure out how to deal with pointers...
I could never quite wrap my head around those.
Now everything is all simple because C# and Java are garbage collector languages. That's great because you can never get memory leaks. On the other hand, it costs performance. I'm of the belief that languages shouldn't limit you for being stupid (leaving a memory leak like the Windows ME developers did for iexplore.exe). Rather, programming languages should give you a way to get directly to the hardware...
Anyway, I thought it might be an interesting exercise to compute the total number of posts in all of our threads. Do you think we could reach 10,000?

Well I got trashed last night, and it was awesome. Beer still sucks, though. I can't really stand anything that isn't fruity (unless I have something tasty to chase it down)
Other than that nothing has happened -_- I'm still lonely and hating it.
I just woke up, so I probably won't be typing a long-winded response, but Gerg, I went through what you're going through but when I was in high school, and know someone else on this site that is actually feeling the same way right now but isn't open and is still confused on his sexuality. When I was in high school and accepted the fact that I'm attracted to guys (I went through a denial period for a couple years for various reasons), it hurt to not have that guy I had a crush on, or to fall in love with my best friend whom was straight with no chance of even being bisexual. Being gay in high school, especially if theres not many/no other gay guys around, can make it all seem very lonely, even if you have a lot of friends. Everyone else is dating, you always hear about it, etc. But don't let it get you down too much, as most high school relationships won't last past college. I'm sure there are those that do, but the chances of finding a gay guy you like and being in a relationship with him in high school may be somewhat of a slim chance, but then trying to stay together if you both go to different colleges and it becomes a long-distance relationship, it makes it even worse.
If you're planning on going to college, as I've said a few times before in the past Gaymers threads, try to wait it out if you can because that's the best time to try and settle in and find that someone you'll want to be with the rest of your life.
