I made this deck only because I think both Bloodgift Demon and Druidic Satchel are really good. I think it is pretty strong in the current meta game filled with an abundance of aggro decks and would like some input in numbers and card choices. The colors are Red White and Black which obviously is a strange color combination with the current card selection but I specifically did not include blue in the deck so please do not just say "LOL just use blue.". I built the deck against aggro but have also tried adding some anti control cards main deck so the match ups are better. Please feel free the criticize but please try to give suggestions if you do.
Galvanic Blast - great card for aggro and easy way to deal with mirran crusader. Doom blade - duh Go for the throat - for what doom blade can't do Distress - good discard against control and on the play is pretty strong Day of judgment - needed for when you are getting overwhelmed or stupid trolls Unburial rites - you have the colors and the fatties surgical extraction - I think this card is needed in mb for control matches and can be strong against aggro too devil's play - just another win con.
artifacts/enchantments:
Druidic satchel - great card against control which gives you uncounterable creatures and extra land. The life gain is also very nice against aggro Oblivion ring - too good not to play
planeswalkers:
Liliana of the Veil - really good card all around against control and aggro Chandra, the Firebrand - can ping little dudes and puts a clock on control Gideon jura - great against aggro and unwrathable creature vs control
I've been messing with a B/R lately and I just kept saying to myself man I wish I had O-ring and Gideon but thought the mana would be too ridiculous. I really like your list but was just thinking that while the aggro match up would be great, the control match up seems atrocious.
All I can think of is the band... which is so hardcore...
I have been thinking of a deck like this, however, red and black's role tend to overlap a little. Boros seems pretty good, but I do like the metal name...
But yeah I've been really interested in this color combination recently too. If built right, the deck would hose a meta littered with aggro, but I'm pretty sure it would bow to control.
Yes, the aggro match up always seems pretty solid. The control match up is iffy but that is why i main distress and surgical which are both fine against aggro too. No more hero or phoenix. Also, satchel is really strong against control because most of them won't want to waste an o ring on it so you get ahead in land and sometimes get free creatures.
I thought of vengeance but i feel it costs a lot of mana and i would rather just play another fatty in the deck. It might be good though, I only made this deck like 2 days ago and have been trying to test it on workstation as often as possible.
You could pull off Sorin's Vengeance maybe in a dedicated R/B black built around abusing Chandra. But in 3 colors, it's just to taxing on the manabase.
I do like the idea of Unburial Rites + Chandra though. If only we had other discard outlets to take advantage of, besides Liliana. I can't wait for Faithless Looting!
Actually even a metalcrafted galvanic blast copied with Chandra could be sexy
If careful study is really in the next set it would be amazing. Due to the lack of discard I only play 1 unburial rites because sometimes they can just sit in your hand if you run more.
Liliana takes care of discard, and Faithless Looting is confirmed in the next set... as a common. Therefore, I am thinking about running 3-4 Liliana. Thus making this like a no blue solar flare, more accurately known as a reanimator deck. However, this deck has options that means that you don't have to reanimate, because enough is cheap.
Dispatch would be a really nice addition if you are going towards the more artifact build. I appreciate the ideas coming from every body. I hope you guys can keep coming up with ideas, whether it be the reanimator or artifact style of deck.
I mean between Sphere of the Suns, Druidic Satchel, Solemn Simulacrum, and Wurmcoil Engine I can't imagine I won't have metalcraft by midgame, thus why there's only two Dispatch. The fact is that Metalcraft is inevitable, why not capitalize on it in that little bit?
Has anyone done testing with Druidic Satchel? Is it more often than not just putting lands in play? I'm almost tempted to say Solemn is just straight up better.
I love this color combination and I've built this deck as a "mid range" and it's been good so far. I just need help on some loose ends like the land count... I don't think there is enough but it works great. Thanks.

A land put into play is a land not drawn. Nothing wrong with that right?

^ that would just make it a grixis deck. Not having a sweeper in an aggro meta and not having any real way to deal with pw does not seem like the best idea imo.

Agreed.
I might be playing this tonight at my FNM, but I haven't decided yet. It is a solid deck choice, but I also am thinking about running my Essence of the Ramp deck. I will post my proposed decklist later today.
creatures:
Olivia Voldaren - Great card but can easily get burned out. Thankfully it is immune to doom blade and victim of night.
Grave Titan - Titans are obviously way too good not to play. Inferno titan seems good too but Sun Titan doesn't seem to have any targets in this deck.
Wurmcoil Engine - nothing to explain
Rune-scarred Demon - This card can grab another threat even if it removed immediately.
Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite - This card just destroys aggro decks
Doom blade - duh
Go for the throat - for what doom blade can't do
Distress - good discard against control and on the play is pretty strong

Gideon jura - great against aggro and unwrathable creature vs control
Dragonskull summit
Isolated chapel
Clifftop retreat
Shimmering grotto
revoke existence - anti o ring, swords, and other pesky cards
celestial purge - best hate card imo
curse of death's hold - mini elesh norn
nihil spellbomb - another card to help against control
stensia bloodhall - could bring 1 in as uncounterable damage vs control

You can do that, but usually it is a little weak. With Galvanic Blast and Unburial Rites, it may as well be an "oops I win" play.
EDIT: By weak, I don't mean weak, but I mean tough with the remainder of the deck's interactions.

I think that card is way too mana intensive to be used in the deck already using mana and things like satchel and fatties.
