"On top of that, if you ever manage to T2 Lead the Stampede, fill your hand, and pitch two Vengevines on your cleanup phase, the sky rains kittens wearing tophats, each carrying a sock full of quarters. True story."
LaPille's work as lead developer is long finished. The set must be printed by now.
Quote from Tom LaPille »
Today isn't the last you'll hear from me. I was the lead developer of Dark Ascension, and I'm sure I'll pop up again at least once or twice as that set gets closer to release.
I know this is a nitpick, but this picture needs to be mirrored because:
1. Sorin is not left-handed
2. If you compare Sorin's belts to the belts in other arts of him (including the sleeves), it's easy to tell that the picture was released from Wizards backwards (and I have no idea why).

The original picture was oriented correctly. The "heron" in the moon is along the left side, and faces right. The sword and belt are the artist's mistake, not the result of a mirrored image.
He's wiping down his sword, which doesn't have any bearing on if he's right-handed or left-handed. I'm right-handed, but usually clean my katana while holding it in my left hand.

Yes, but the hilt is on the correct hip for him to draw and use it from his left hand. While you may clean your sword with your off hand, you don't draw it with that hand. And I personally don't care about the small details like that, but I do think that Wizards has been letting to many discrepancies between the story characters and the printed characters go around lately. The books the last few years have been completely awful compared to the past anyway, and characters not being right, or occasionally not even in the story at all, is just inexcusable. Especially considering they dropped down to one book a cycle.

You are not joking there, terribly awful. Every time I read one I think "So you decided to 'humanize' planeswalkers and make them more relatable just so you could trash consistency?" Personally I find most of the planeswalkers annoying and rarely do they match at all their bios on the main mtg site (or even their personalities in other books. Seriously, if you are going to have multiple authors contributing to a single world, they should each at least read the other books for those worlds.)

Mayhaps It's mirrored because there will be another transforming planeswalker?
I would assume he is ambidextrous... since his sheath changed sides, too. You would draw it with your opposite hand, so therefore in this art he is left-handed. I really hope this is his new PW artwork, and that other art isn't. I was disappointed with the Liliana art, no offense to the artist. I just wasn't feeling it. It didn't seem... MTG enough.
Another thing, will we be getting a novel for this set? I pray hope we do, I bet Innistrad would make for an awesome read. I enjoyed the old books, and I also enjoyed the Agents of Artifice and the Test of Metal. Tezerret REALLY seemed like Tezzeret. Coolest. Character. Ever.

First I've seen of this. Do we have info on these cards at all?
I seem to remember this, as well. No idea what they do, but I thought we did have the names of the prerelease and buy-a-box promos.
It would actually be pretty cool if Crown of Empires, Throne of Empires, and Scepter of Empires were references to ISD block rather than just a silly combo.
Found the thread, thx!

The mighty Sorin! Lefty by day, Righty by night....
"You wouldn't like me when I'm righty"
I seriously hope his planeswalker art is the "wiping blood off the sword" one not the "casually holding the sword" on the card sleeve.
