You know, the one you use when you want to find a card or look up a card.
And what are your reasons for it? I use Magiccards.info because it's easier to navigate and enter search terms than Gatherer. There's less advertisements and other useless information on the page so it loads easier too.
If I know the name of a card and want to look it up I got to magiccards.info
If I want to search for cards by some description I use gatherer's advanced search feature (though I'm aware that magiccards.info also has advanced search options and I should probably switch over to that).
Gatherer at first, but switched to Magiccards.info maybe a year ago? It's way better. Now when it's down and I gotta try gatherer I rage (their advanced search is poop.)
magiccards.info. In addition to being simpler to navigate and functioning like a traditional search engine, it also offers price info, as well as expansion sets (e.g. European Land Program) that Gatherer seems to have forgotten about.
About any "subpar" mechanics or cards: Context is king.
If I make a templating or grammar error, let me know.
The franchise MtG most resembles is Battlestar Galactica. Why? Its players exist in, at most, a dozen different models at any given point in time, with perhaps up to 3% variation, 5% if you're lucky.
Another vote for magiccard.info. Their advanced search is just superior, plain and simple.

magiccards.info >>>>>> all the rest. Gatherer is just bad and their advanced search is terrible. Though lately I've been using mtgfanatic and/or abu because pretty much everything else is blocked at work. Though those aren't really search engines, just ways to look at specific cards.

Got it set up on my Opera for quick searches.

magiccards.info, gatherer, and wizards sometimes takes a freakishly long time to load.
