My old Mayael list was a fun deck, but I wanted a more general Naya aggro list. A couple pieces of equipment, some mana ramp, a few recursion elements, and the combination of Survival of the Fittest, Sneak Attack, and Paleoloth. Fairly standard stuff. After browsing through the available generals, I couldn't find any that struck me as particularly interesting. So back to Mayael it is! Rather than rely on her ability to hit big guys, I decided on the plan of ramping like mad, with Mayael activations as a hail Mary. So, list!
So there she is. Ramp like mad, play threats, beatdown. Almost no answers because I'd rather force them out of other people with this deck. There's a pretty good chunk of big creatures and Scroll Rack to help Mayael hit if I need to go that route, though it's significantly lower than most other Mayael decks. Please don't suggest I add more fat - I'm well aware of probability and the fact that this deck is likely to whiff on Mayael a large percent of the time, but she's not actually the focus of the deck.
This isn't anything especially groundbreaking for a Mayael list, but it's nice to have a super straightforward stompy option for games where you don't feel like thinking all that much, and Mayael is a ton of fun to play.
And there you have it. Manabase is budget, but reliably (if slowly) hits all my colors. Most of the mana rocks will switch to green ramp at some point when I'm thinking of it and also next to my collection rather than my computer. The only immediate changes I'm thinking of are more answers (Woodfall Primus, probably Orim's Thunder) and possibly a little more topdeck manipulation (Cream of the Crop). Final note, Paleoloth/Sneak Attack is amazing. Thanks for looking!
