Hey everyone, I have it on good authority that divination is getting a reprint and we get a spirit lord at 1UW other spirits are +1+1 and have hex proof.
I hope this is fake. I don't know about this guy, but the fact that this guy is pretending to be Justin Bieber gives me some hope.
+1/+1 and hexproof is just sick. I don't like how they're obviously pushing some decks, while Standard is the most fun in three years because nothing is really pushed.
Sphinx is really good. Control will play it and be able to protect him just fine, hes a much better finisher then Jwar Isle and thats saying a lot considering how good he alone is. Bazzar Trader.dec now has 16 threaten effects. Thats really, really, really, really good. Really good.
I think I'm going to err on the side of false this time. The Number Crunch hasn't been updated yet, but with the common land that was recently spoiled, we'll have six land slots, which bumps the entire the thing back one. Add the Zombie uncommon lord, and that's two. Unless green ends on Wolfbitten Captive, I don't see fitting another gold card in.
As a secondary argument, the three uncommon gold lords we've seen are for Werewolves, Zombies, and Vampires. Seem familiar? I doubt they'd just randomly throw a Spirit lord in for kicks, especially since they have two (albeit weakerones) in Innistrad.
Just my 0.02. I could be wrong, but it seems to break away from the existing parallels of the horror tribe lords.
I highly doubt this is true I mean I think Wizards would have learned there lesson with Scion of Oona which was a little too good of a lord since it gave shroud if they have a lord that gives hexproof and again to a tribe with flying it is just silly
I would think it a bit strange that they'd make a hexproof Lord for spirits when we have something similar with Illusions... Besides, I think for the cost, I think I'd just rather stay with Lord of the Unreal and Phantasmal Image.
Also Memnarch... MaRo did mention in his Tmblr that Humans didn't get included in many of the cycles that the other color pairs did get. It wouldn't be a shock if no human lord or no human land appeared.

If Avacyn Restored signals the Humans' comeback, there might be a Human Lord there.

Vampires also had a "kinda" lord in Rakish Heir. Spirits have been weird in this set lore wise though. They're supposed to be the haunting scare you kind but just aren't brought up a lot. Hell, the most popular one at this point is Geist of Saint Traft and he seems like a good guy.

Scion of Oona isn't/wasn't too good. It was a fringe card in the really competitive faerie decks over the years. Spellstutter Sprite and Mistbind Clique were the real problem faerie cards. The supposed spirit lord won't be too bad either, as there are plenty enough ways to remove it. Also, there are not that many crazy spirit cards in the block, as compared to say zombies, so a deck with this and spirits isn't that scary.
Regarding Divination: Wizards reprints cards in every expansion set. Every one. So people shouldn't be surprised. At least Divination is playable in sealed/draft.

Can't wait for the Spirit lord though.
Edit:
On a second thought: With this UW Spirit Lord the Fog Creature seems to be unlikely?
Assume 2/2 like the others I suppose. If this is correct, UW just became broken.

Seems a bit odd...

Amen brother.
Seriously though it will be really strong. Geist of Saint Traft will start hitting for 7 with its Angel.
And they really could do without the reprints. Or at least bother to change their names. At least it would sound fresh.
All of them have been 2/2's so...

Things with 'haunt' in them tend to disagree with that statement.

a spirit lord would be absurd

[GTC] Gatecrash Patch for MWS (249/249)
Hrm, that's true...so they're breaking the rare land cycle? The Havengul Diregraf is a common land. *scratches head*

About as odd as Faithless Looting and Desperate Ravings being in the same block.

At least not until AVR. I hope.
