Greetings fellow artwork artists for MTGSalvation.
I made this signature tutorial for someone on the forums who was wondering how I did this humans sig that people seem quite fond of. I figured I should share a bit since there are lots of blooming artists out there that could appreciate it.
This tutorial is made in Photoshop CS5 but most of the effects can be applied to previous CS versions of Photoshop, most of the interface is the same. I did not cover the basics of rendering here since that is the most time consuming and rather boring part. I also forgot one bit on how to do an applied image which I will explain here.
This is done to put a bunch of images into one layer, normally because you want to apply an effect to all of the subjects at once.
- Create a new layer above all the other layers.
- Go to your top menu and select Image
- Then Apply Image...
- Select ok on the pop up.
- And presto the new layer is now a accumulation of all the previous ones.
Aw man but if you make the render at their largest size and save it then everyone else can use it and nobodys repeating the same work! Render libraries ftw!!
hehe I know but I have the hardest time forcing myself to render as it is I didnt bother making it a really nice cut I copy them from previous sigs when I need them again.

You cannot outrun the beast within.
For reference though where did you get all those fine renders?

Simple splatter brushes, found them on deviant art. I am currently at work though so I couldn't tell you which one I used exactly.
