At first when I proxied this card up it wasn't performing. Once I got my actual copies though it was pretty insane at getting my doubles for ascension filtering lands and fueling Past in Flames/dumping it in the grave so I flash it back.
It also allows hands that were otherwise unkeepable to become keepable due to the 1 R and faithless in hand. Its effectively a mulligan without mulliganing.
Thoughts on this card? I may just be in magic Christmas land when I include a set in my deck so I want to hear some opinions.
tl;dr Huntmaster will see play in sideboard, rarely mainboard, and if you disagree, sig this and feel free to rub it in my face when the time comes. 'Cause I want him to be maindeckable.
I tried it as well but I keep just running out of cards. I do think it is better than desperate ravings but I think I might have to +1 mountain -1 island if I am going to play this card.
Well I just removed Sleight of Hand in favor of this card. Am I the only person who plays Gift's in this deck?

In case I didn't tell you, I don't care about your opinion I just want your facts. And not the facts that make you seem smart. I want the ones that are actual facts.
In a list running 3 PiF I'm tempted to swap out my desperates for 3 and use the last slot for an extra PiF. I get really bummed out when I never draw seeing as I've been stacking my grave/hand for so long. Its really the key piece to making Faithless worthwhile.

Seems to give much more consistency with hitting cards for Pyromancer ascension.. Boarded out lightning bolts in favor of them, since I find a little spot removal/gap closer is not needed.. Give me the ability to guarantee combo faster plz
I've been very happy with them as long as I am playing pyromancer's ascension. It makes it a million times easier to win turn 3 with pyromancer's ascension when you faithless looting turn 1.
I still believe including Faithless Looting is debatable. Its one merit is that you can cast it off ritual mana and discard lands during the combo turn, but otherwise, I never felt good about the card disadvantage, and I always felt that I ran out of cards in hand too quickly whenever I played it (especially when I tried the VanPhanel Pyromancer Ascension Infinity list--way too slow compared to traditional UR Storm).

Oh yeah, I get what you are saying and I felt the same way (about the card disadvantage) at first... but...
I can say with confidence that Faithless Looting is the hardest card to play in the deck. I lost so many games when I first included it, thought it was bad, then came back to it, sucked with it some morem, learned as I made mistakes, and now I am willing to say its the best dig in the deck.
Its one of those cards that takes alot of dedication to use properly, but once you get down the gist of what to discard in what scenarios, its good.
Thought Scour is cool, but the lack of card selection disturbs me. Its good in the hyper-ascension biulds (the ones that ran 4xAscension and maxed out on speed), but outside of that all cantrips and dig are just better.

Im playing Ritural Gifts atm, wih 3 copys of Faithless Looting, i can say that i am quite likeing it atm, being able to ditch thouse lands in your hand that you might get from probe or manamorphose, keeps the combo going, and the fact that its red helps in the casting departiment, its a wicked dig tool, adds to the storm count,
unkyunk: edit: im starting to know about what ur saying about collecting the format, once you have a few staples you can build anything, just need to get goofy and bob lol :'( ive been trying to get around it for ages but i dont see any other way around it, i was hoping for goofy to get banned but yeah
Standard: pft, i love to see my cards depreciate in value once they rotate :S
Mordern: Melira, UR Storm, RDW, Infect, W life/control, UW Tron
Legacy: RDW, Pox
Vintage: Dark Depths, R Grey Orge
I am currently running 4 Faithless lootings and I can tell you that they are fantastic, they let me do something turn three and four when I have a hand filled with lands or extra pyromancer's ascensions.

Storm decks can be summed up to this:
We cast spells to make mana to cast spells, then we use the mana for draw spells, so we can cast those spells to draw more spells or make more mana to cast more spells. Somewhere in this quagmire... we win or lose instantly, usually this is when we stop digging.

I still like Desperate Ravings, Thought Scour, and Peer Through Depths more than this card. If you want to fuel Pyromancer Ascension, Thought Scour fits the bill.
