MTG Salvation

Over the last few days I have gotten on a pauper kick after looking through ISBPathfinder's pauper lists. It is a very fun deckbuilding experience because you have to use cards you would never think to use in EDH and it's a challenge to try to compete with actual decks. This is my attempt at a 5-color control deck so I'm still figuring it out. This list borrowed a hefty bit from ISB and d0su's 5-color pauper decks. The bad counters will probably come out soon to bring in more tutor and rockish effects. I do have to say that I am loving the list so far though.

What this deck has that its father decks do not is a theft package using all 3 common rarity Threaten effects available to take other peoples' big things then, hopefully, sac them off so they can't retaliate with them. So here's the list.



So there you have it. Not amazing but it can handle itself in a multiplayer game as far as I've seen. It still needs testing but feel free to leave any comments, advice, constructive criticism, etc. Thanks.

If you're running every colour you should use the best of everything and run more ramp.

So, I recommend Rampant Growth and Nature's Lore. You want every colour.

Given how poor removal is, I would protect your general with Whispersilk Cloak and maybe Neurok Stealthsuit.

Also, run Crypt rats for removal spell number two, which can be tutored for with Shred Memory and I would also run Izzet Chronarch to recycle removal spells.

Evincar's Justice may also suit your theme.

Thanks for the response. I do feel that I need more ramp so the Growth may come in but Nature's Lore only hits forests and I can't run Shock or ABU Duals (pauper/not all that much cash). I had ways to protect the General which got cut to up the land count and may come back in I just need room.

Crypt Rats is very good and it would be in the list. I just have to find it. It's scurrying around one of the boxes in my card room. And also thanks for reminding me that the Justice exists.

There have been some tweaks since I posted this that I will update soon. I would like to ask your or anyone else's opinion on the theft package. Do you think it's more cute than good? I've only tested a few games and it's done some cool stuff so far but the deck is not finished as of yet so...

It's alright, but you need to support it more.

Altar's Reap and Viscera Seer would be a good start, as well as potentially two to three more ways to get rid of their guys. At the moment it's marginal you'll actually get multiple pieces. Fanatical Devotion may also be useful.
