I played UB to a second place finish at a local competitive event yesterday. I ran 3 Sphinx and 1 Grave Titan. No Bloodline Keepers.
I think the Keepers could be good in aggressive matchups where he won't get immediately bounced, like Zombies and against other Draw-go style decks, as an extra threat.
When I wrote this thread, a UB Tezzeret deck packing 4 Bloodline Keepers had just done well at the pro tour. I thought it would be an interesting option to discuss. Batterskull probably should have been in the options as well. The point was the start some discussion about finishers, or the lack thereof, in the wake of the pro tour. Personally, I'm more interested in the reasoning behind choices rather than simply dismissing a card or just referring to decks that did well.
I think we have enough info here to conclude that most people are using Titan or Sphinx. Personally, I think that Sphinx is my go to choice, but would like Titan in some specific match-ups, like mono-green.
Bloodline Keeper has been pretty good for me, he is both an offensive and defensive card and if left unanswered, can get out of hand quickly. The flying blockers are also relevant vs. spirits.
Batterskull is usually better. Being able to attack and block and not have your opponent steal your creature with something like Act of Aggression just makes it straight up awesome. Having it be unkillable is a sweet bonus.
The six drops have all been a dissapointment for me. Delver has image, hellrider aggro has metamorph! Humans get some use out of fiend hunters and oblivion rings.
I'm swapping to a psuedo infect take now. I'm running a playset of phyrexian crusaders, a pair of pikes, and I replaced drownyard with inkmoths.
I like how well crusader handles geists' as well.
