My friend recently discovered a Savannah in one of his old boxes of cards, it's in pretty rough shape but I got to wondering which set it was actually from... Does anyone know how to tell the difference between the three?
If it has a black border and different corners from every other Magic set, it's alpha.
If it has a black border but the same corners as every other Magic set, it's beta.
If it's white border, it's either Unlimited or Revised. It's a bit tougher to tell between these two. Here's a pretty decent link with explanatory images on the changes.
To spring board off of Binary, for the dual lands specifically, they have very different wording from unlimited and revised. If you click on the card link and toggle through the different versions, you will see what I mean.
EDH is like French fries: some people like waffle cut, crinkle cut, or plain old straight cut, and while there's slight flavor difference and personal preference, at the end of the day they're still fries.
Go ahead and run, you'll only die tired.
