Hello there. This is the Turn 1 Win thread. In this thread, your goal is to create a 'perfect' hand that could let you win on turn 1. You get to control all your draws for 1 turn.
There are a few types of turn 1 wins. I'll show you the tiers of how 'good' your win is:
Tier 1: Winning on the play, cannot be stopped by Mental Misstep, Gut Shot, or Surgical Extraction
Win without Chancelor of the Tangle
Tier 2: Winning on the play
Win by milling
Tier 3: Winning on the draw
Now, when posting a combo, be sure to use card tags. We want to be able to see your combo in writing
Now, to start things off, I'll post my turn 1 win combo.
Here's the list of combos currently:
Tier 3:
Tier 2: Opening hand is Swamp, Chancellor of the Forge, Tainted Strike, Mutagenetic Growth, Mutagenetic Growth, Mutagenetic Growth, and Mutagenetic Growth.
Combo: Reveal chancelor to get a 1/1 Goblin with haste. Play swamp, cast Tainted Strike on Goblin token. Play Mutagenetic Growth four times on the token, to get a 10/9 infect. Swing for lethal.
Tier 1:
Oh cool...I get to live in magical turn 1 Christmas land too.
Here's my ultimate turn 1 win before I even go.
Opponent on play:
Gets so excited by opening hand, kicks chair, stubs toe, screams loudly, knocks over bottle of Poland Spring next to is deck, spills water all over his cards, has to scoop because they're all sticking together and marked.
Hey, it has just as much probability as anything YOU guys are going to come up with.
Seriously, I don't know any turn 1 wins. I have enough trouble just getting turn 10 wins. I'm happy for those.
Even in Vintage, with all those broken cards, turn 1 wins don't happen all that often because way too much has to go right on both sides of the table, such as no FoW on the other end.
But yeah, I like to sometimes live in magical Christmas land. Back in the old days of standard, there was a turn 0 win with Protein Hulk that actually happened quite often because of this bad boy.
Opponent plays fetch land, they fetch, let it resolve, they get an island out of their deck, they cast Preordain, in response, 4x Archive Trap, milling the remainder 52 cards from their deck, Preordain resolves, they have to draw, no cards. You win on their turn.

That's so bloody unlikely, but so funny. I can imagine the look on the face of a person when you do that to them.
Mountain + Memnite/red Chancellor + Infernal Plunge = RRR, the non-Mountains essentially become Simian Spirit Guides.
Short of Immolating Souleater I can only think of Precursor Golem to be able to hit high enough power to kill an opponent. Problem is, it costs 5 mana and doesn't have haste.
T2 win would be Mountain, 2 Memnite, 2 Infernal Plunge, Precursor Golem, Mutagenic Growth, with Mutagenic Growth on top of the deck. First 5 cards make 5 mana, cast Golem. T2 attack & pump, assuming opponent doesn't block = 21 damage.
Infinite combo wise there is 2 Myr Galvanizer + Palladium Myr. That's 9 mana total, plus you still need a sink for all the mana.
Oh Stone Idol Trap, you so crazy. I played Pyromancer Ascension in those times, after Time Warp rotated out. My wincon was Stone Idol Trap + Twisted Image.
That's so bloody unlikely, but so funny. I can imagine the look on the face of a person when you do that to them.
I've seen it happen when someone at a tournament had some sort of mill deck. Jacerator or something like that.
Protean Hulk Combo was never standard, rather it was a legacy deck that worked with Flash. The deck was called Flash Hulk, and was fairly consistent until they banned enough of the deck to make it so you couldn't win early enough, or even on the draw and during your opponent's first upkeep.
I hadn't realized there were any t1 wins in standard, but I guess when we start choosing perfect hands... sure it can happen.

I have to admit; that's pretty sweet. I had (somewhat) high hopes for Stone Idol Trap, but it never panned out for me. I think I sideboarded 2 for a while and then gave up.
Flash Hulk was actually pretty consistent. I played the deck for quite a while in Vintage and it averaged turns 2-3 kill. I don't think I ever did a turn 1 in tournament play unfortunately. I still remember the rush to go out to stores to buy $1 Flashes that were going to go up.

Love. Forgive. Trust. Be willing to be broken that you may be remade.
I have never won on turn one but have a couple times on Turn 2 . . . T1 Forest and Glistener Elf. T2 Forest, Swing G Elf, Titanic Growth and 3 Mut Growth . . . typically I win turn 3/4 but have T2.
The Archive Trap turn 1 mill 52 cards has been done by me a couple times at FNM's. Both times happened vs Boros.

Yea, those are MTG Bars. What can I say, I am a dork
Although my background was a long time Vintage player, I have to admit that I really hate these threads. If you're building 1st turn combo wins in Standard that are extremely vulnerable rather than building a consistent deck, then you will most likely not be too competitive.
P.S. - Sorry if someone already said this and sorry for being negative.

You can do fun stuff on the draw if you assume someone has tried the above, but whiffs after you have 18 creatures in your yard on turn 1. 1CC Ghoultrees makes life a lot easier.

Alright, sorry if i didn't make things clear enough, you can control your draws, but not your your opponent's deck. Sorry about that :r It's a cool combo, though. Basically, you need to create a combo that, once in a while, regardless of what your opponent is running (minus something like mental misstep or gut shot), can potentially get a T1 OHKO.
There are a few types of turn 1 wins. I'll show you the tiers of how 'good' your win is:
Tier 1: Winning on the play, cannot be stopped by Mental Misstep, Gut Shot, or Surgical Extraction

Now, to start things off, I'll post my turn 1 win combo.
Opening hand: Chancellor of the Tangle, Chancellor of the Tangle, Immolating Souleater, Mountain, Faithless Looting, Tainted Strike, Postmortem Lunge.
Combo: Start by revealing two Chancellor of the Tangle, adding GG to your mana pool. Play Mountain, cast Faithless Looting. Draw Memnite and Mox Opal, discarding Chancellor of the Tangle and Immolating Souleater. Cast Memnite and Mox Opal. Cast Postmortem Lunge, paying for it with the two green you had from earlier and two life, going to 18. Return Immolating Souleater to the battlefield with haste. Tap Mox Opal for B, cast Tainted Strike on Immolating Souleater. Activate pump ability 8 times, going to 2 life, and swing with a 10/1 infect. Opponent hits 10 poison counters and dies.
So now you have an idea of what you need to do, let's go! Here are a few helpful cards when making combos:

Gemstone Caverns
If you look up turn 0 win mtg, you'll find it. What a crazy deck that was.
Most of those cards are now either restricted in Vintage or banned in everything else.
With little wonder why.
4x Archive Trap
3x whatever (Mental Misstep?)
Opponent plays fetch land, they fetch, let it resolve, they get an island out of their deck, they cast Preordain, in response, 4x Archive Trap, milling the remainder 52 cards from their deck, Preordain resolves, they have to draw, no cards. You win on their turn.

Most of my decks: http://tappedout.net/users/thraashman/
However, I can see how the Chancellor of the Forge, swamp, Tainted Strike, and 4x Mutagenic Growth is common...
Mine only took 4 cards, and could be done on your opponents turn to a common turn 1 play back in that standard.
Let me also say, I think win by milling should be Tier 1.
