Some Aggro Loam and Loam Control (discussion is mainly stuck in Aggro Loam) decks have Worm Harvest as an inevitable 1-of. It hits Bob as hard as Force of Will does, but those decks usually mill themselves enough and pitch enough lands to Raven's Crime for Worm Harvest to produce more than 2-3 tokens a shot. (Heck, even Worm Harvest for 2 tokens occasionally saves your butt.)
Probably the most notable deck to feature Worm Harvest was "Can o' Worms".
Basically, a 200-300 card deck. Your objective was to tutor and dig and play defensively till you got Traumatize, then mill half your library. Retrace Worm Harvest as necessary and gg.
I can't say how good it would be in Modern, but that's probably the route to take if you want a truly dedicated build.

FREEDOM IS SLAVERY

Worm harvest has been a staple 1-of in loam decks since it was printed.
I guess the best thing that could be said is that there isnt anything to break here hat hasnt already been established. Your best bet is to play it as a singleton in aggro loam.

sounds like sonething conley woods would play.
thanks for the input. I am already playing seismic loam in modern, jsut wanted to see if it was OK to put one in there.
I was using this as a back up kill condition/or source of creature in a polymorph deck. it had marginal results but i always found myself comboing more with polymorph than worm harvest so i've since put it on the side lines.
its a good token generator for decks that want to use a swath of tokens for the kill, but as it currently stands the only deck that is doing that, that is competitive is blue white control with white sun's zenith.
so at the moment worm harvest just doesn't have an practical deck to be used in, still an awesome card over all.

I came across this thing while going through my bulk rares. it doesn't look like much and costs a ton, but hey... it has potential.
Life from the loam... squee... some discard outlets, faithless looting... I can feel a deck coming on.
Does this monstrosity have a home in modern? I really want to break it.

Yes sir! This monstrosity has quite a cosy home in Modern - it is at home in control decks built upon the Loam engine. E.g. Assault Loam (see my sig).
BRG Loam Control (Assault - Loam) BRG
W Mono White Control (Martyr - Proc) W
