When Scion of the Ur-Dragon copies Moltensteel Dragon, it becomes Moltensteel Dragon. Now you have two Moldensteel Dragons: neither of which are Scion of the Ur-Dragon.
Step 4 in your description is not allowed: you can't activate Scion of the Ur-Dragon again, because you don't control a Scion of Ur-Dragon anymore.

Oh that makes sense. When I read, " it loses its copy ability for the rest of the turn." I thought it was referring to the copying of the previous card and not the ability to copy.
Thank-you very much.

This does still count for General Damage even though it isn't technically Scion of the Ur-Dragon?
You can however, activate Scion twice (while he is scion), and then when he becomes a moltensteel, respond to the second ability with the firebreathing. In such a manner, what you describe would work, the bonus would carry over through transformations as copy effects are applied in layer 1.

So my example wasn't "Wrong" it was just timed improperly. Thanks.
1. I have Scion of the Ur-Dragon in play.
2. I activate the Scion's ability searching for Moltensteel Dragon.
3. I pay 12 life giving Scion +6/+0.
4. I activate the Scion's ability searching for Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon.
5. At this point I believe that I have a Scion of the Ur-Dragon who is a copy of a 10/4 Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon.
This would give 10 poison to my opponent causing them to lose...right?
I guess the question comes down to layering...right?
Does this apply:
...or does layering simply remove the pump ability leaving me with a 4/4 Scion who is copying Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon?
