iPad: This summer in addition to XBox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC, Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013 is going to be available on iPad!
Planechase: Not only is Wizards of the Coast coming out with four new Planechase decks on June 1 (which introduce the new Phenomenon card type), but you'll be able to play Planechase multiplayer games in Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013!
Optional Manual Tapping of Lands: Although Duels of the Planeswalkers is mostly for people who are new to Magic, it's a lot of fun for people who have been playing Magic long enough to know what's what. So for Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013, you can turn on an option to let you choose exactly which lands to tap!
New Decks; New Challenges: Naturally, a new Duels of the Planeswalkers means new decks to battle with and new puzzles to solve.
Meet the New Boss: The final battle in Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013 is someone you might recognize. Say hello to Magic’s ultimate evil mastermind, dragon Planeswalker Nicol Bolas!
There is also a wallpaper of a Nicol Bolas-shaped symbol on the page. Buuuuut...
This week's wallpaper features the horns of Nicol Bolas from Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013 and the Magic 2013 Core Set. Enjoy.
Manual tapping of lands. It's a miracle! Such a sorely needed feature in the previous two games.
Planechase support is pretty sweet! Ought to be fun to try that out.
I don't get what's special about having Nicol Bolas as the final boss. He was the final boss of the first Duels game, and of the Archenemy campaign in D12. It's just sort of expected at this point.
Ooo, ipad! I might have to get this, I dunno yet. Planechase sounds fun, I've always wanted to try it, but I don't think I know enough people who would have this game. /foreveralone
Since I posted the topic, I didn't really give my opinion about it. I think this is awesome. I love the idea of Planechase and am glad they are including it in this game (to tie in with the release of Planechase 2012). Not being able to tap whatever lands I wanted was something I couldn't stand about DotP 2012, and I'm wondering if this could enable the inclusion of more nonbasic lands that have more than just one ability.
Bolas...eh, it's Bolas. I have no idea what that could mean for M13. Maybe M13 will be including multicolored cards as the "returning mechanic"? Seems to be the only way Bolas could fit in that set...

My theory: Bolas' boss deck will contain a copy of Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker. It won't be available to play with, of course, but it'd be an introduction to Planeswalker cards - each release has upped the complexity and I don't see that trend changing.

It's certainly possible. DotP 2012 definitely increased in complexity as the DLC added more cards and game modes. It's possible that if planeswalker cards were part of this game, they could easily be an unlockable, or available through DLC.

I use the Duels Of The Planeswalkers layout, though I'm right-handed and keep my deck and GY to the left. I dare you to ask me how tempting it is to hold flying creatures in a floating pattern over the table.
Umm Planeswalkers have already been in the M sets dude...
This, plus the article introducing D13 indicated they wanted to make the game interesting for people who already knew the ropes (for example, by allowing you to tap whatever land you want). It's a plausible idea, though I'm not sure they'd do that right away (hence my DLC theory).

Bolded is the important part.
So...
Nicol Bolas will be in the Core Set? Will that imply that multi-colored cards will also be in it (to support his multi-colored cost)?

Oh god. Am I allowed to hope that he'll be in the Core Set? I...doubt it, given that multicolored cards aren't in Core Sets, but...I can dream, right?
More on-topic, I'll probably be getting this. I enjoyed 2012.

I also find this sentence intriguing.
"Nicol Bolas from [...] the Magic 2013 Core Set"? Nicol Bolas is going to be in M13?
Edit: Nath'd, but still. Nicol Bolas in a core set?

It means Nicol Bolas's horns will be poking in from off-frame in a card in m13 just so they can say "We told you his horns would be in m13!"

I was thinking that. Or maybe they're deciding to add multicolor to the Core Sets.
