I played standard tempo for a while, and Vapor Snag was one of the most important cards in the deck. I have yet to see it in a single modern tempo list. Is there some reason that the card isn't played?
It can be good as a SB option, but I found that it takes up extra spots that could be used more effectively with counter magic. It is also bad against Jund, cascade and many other creatures that have "enter the battlefield" effects. Main decking Vapor Snag can propel some of tempo's bad matches into horrible matches, imo.
I think splashing red for lightning bolt makes for a more versatile deck then would Vapor Snag
However, it definitely could have potential as a sideboard card. Then again, it may also deserve a MD slot, depending on the situation. In my meta, it certainly does not.
Problem here being that most modern decks either don't play many creatures (Tron), spam the field with way too many (Affinity, Tokens) or play cascade/etb effects (Jund, Martyr, etc.)
Repeal replaces itself and it doesn't see much play. The higher cc of Repeal might seem like the issue but really you can play Repeal for a U and hut a ton of stuff in this meta.

In case I didn't tell you, I don't care about your opinion I just want your facts. And not the facts that make you seem smart. I want the ones that are actual facts.
I honestly think it's just better to kill the creature rather than bounce it. Most of the creatures in this Meta are Tiny, or really big and have CITP abilities that you really do not want triggering more than once. Ulamog is one of those creatures. If they casted it once, they can probably cast it again.

Whatever pile of 75 I throw together the night before without testing. Usually: :symb::symu::symg:
I'm using Vapor Snag til I can get my hands on a playset of Remand for a more reasonable cost. VSnag is nice because it can help you play a cheeky combat trick or close out a game when put on an Isochron Scepter, but its no Remand with its glorious cantrip and lack of dead matchups.

While I was playing in standard, I found that it is strongest under certain conditions:
1) Decks playing Snapcaster Mage (obviously tempo): Can abuse the hell out of this card. (bounce itself, bounce 2 creatures, Shock the opponent).
2) Opponents who cast 1 creature spell during a turn: Time Walk+Gut Shot? Please.
3) Clearing the way for a bigger creature: Geist of Saint Traft, big Steppe Lynx.

I'm gonna test it anyways
