Have any of you guys gone the extra mile (and color) and put a Broodmate Dragon in your cube? He's one of my favorite cards, and I'm thinking of trying it out.
It seems like the kind of decks he fits in, and where he fits on the curve, the cost shouldn't be too restrictive. You can often splash a color very easily.
I ran him for a while. He's the sort of card that's really only good in durdly midrange decks, which typically makes him a 15th pick (since there are a million other durdly finishers decks can run instead).
I cut him in the great gold purge of '11 and havn't looked back.
He's only as good or worse than the mono-coloured 6 drops in his colours in cube IMO, therefore not really worth running, despite being a cool and powerful card.
The direction that most people seem to be going is to not run tri-color cards anymore. I think I stopped running tri color cards about 2 years ago. As a result my knowledge on what the best jund card is isn't too current.
But I use to run Oona, Queen of the Fae and he seems to suffer a similar problem. And you just get options in the mono colored slots that are comprable to this guy without being a very narrow card.

This was my experience as well. A pair of 4/4 flyers is pretty good for 6 mana, but the three color cost just ended up being too awkward to justify inclusion.
Anyone still using this guy in the BGR section?
I have a larger cube and kept him because he was an OG, but looking at the other 6 drops in black, red, or green, he gets passed all of the time.
Which card in this three color combo did you replace him with?
When compared to modern green 6 drops, like Old One Eye and Gruff Triplets, this guy just shrivels up and cries in the corner. Certainly not worth running 3 colors for these days.
Feel a little low powered these days, for its mana cost I would expect them to fight something on etb or maybe make a third body (a 2/2 dragon or an egg that makes a baby dragon then it dies would be cute).
Isn't there basically a mono red version in the form of something-bladewing. Although it's kicker not just an etb.
As others said, mono black / red / green all have better options in their respective Titans + things like Old One Eye / Gruff Triplets. Makes it hard to justify a 3 color card that's just worse unless it's a huge cube really struggling to muster its super fatties.
I liked Hellkite Overlord /Darigaaz Reincarnated back in the day, those would be my Jund super fatties of choice. Personally I liked Darigaaz the most because it's easier to hard cast than Hellkite Overlord.

Forgot about Overlord, also a very cool card. I like that Dargaaz recurs himself; I would imagine you only really need/can get it to happen once a game usually.
The through-line of all the big Jund dragons seems to be haste and evasion is very important to the package of a Jund Super Fatty. If broodmate had haste I'd be alot more excited by it, might even test.

As mentioned Soul of Windgrace is a popular choice, but other options that I remember being mentioned are Slimefoot and Squee and Korvold, Fae-Cursed King.

Verix Bladewing.

That's the one. I'd put broodmate below Verix in the grand scheme of things
If I want a cheaty Jund dragon with some style points I'd go with Karrthus, Tyrant of Jund.
