I know of the infinate mana combo that Heartless Summoning that is in the current standered, I got four copies my self today. I am a noob to modern so mabey this has already been explored before, and I am just not aware of it, but I assume that Heartless Summoning could be a storm engine? As it can allow you to repeatedly cast spells as often as you wish? For infinate mana to boot? As modern has more cards then standered, mabey there is an more efficient way to pull off the combo than how you do it in standered?
I have seen heartless summoning in decks. The deck uses Myr Retriever to cast it infinitely (provided you have one in the yard). While its probably not going to win a PTQ it does seem fun in casual but if your playing casual most combo decks are frowned upon. I've tested the deck on MTGO and found its really a hit or miss thing.
Priest of Urabrask + Perilous Myr + Havengul Lich + Heartless Summoning is one of them. Modern card pool means more options to easily get to this combo (despite the loss of Ponder and the inability to use Preordain).
Its a funny and cute idea but your making the combo contain more parts, making it more inconsistent and adding an additional color... That alone might be the nail that boxes the idea...
However as a side for a Splinter Twin deck that was running black anyway for Duress, I can see it being a surprise

Storm decks can be summed up to this:
We cast spells to make mana to cast spells, then we use the mana for draw spells, so we can cast those spells to draw more spells or make more mana to cast more spells. Somewhere in this quagmire... we win or lose instantly, usually this is when we stop digging.
