The Spell Thief started strong with the giant's castle, but they wasted two issues. The issue with Sorin was interesting and useful, but the exposition in both this issue and issue two were negligible.
The only thing to take from this issue was how Dack and Sifa both ascended.

Hopefully Path of Vengeance will be better, seeing that we're moving back to Ravnica and Sifa's plans finally start to gain ground.

I find the series really slow... it doesn't seem to go anywhere (making progress storywise), and he seems to jump around too much ( really hitting home on the whole planeswalker thing). However i'll probably continue to purchase them.

also I agree that breath is a pretty poopy card for 1v1, but it has honestly won me a few matches back when it was standard, and while playing twinheaded.

A little over a year really. But yeaaaaaah, they became so dependent on Avacyn that they had NO other defenses.

The promo cards are meant to sell the comics, right? It would be nice if they would at least print something playable. I don't expect Standstill every time, but there has to be something better than Breath of Malfegor.

I just want to put that art on SOMETHING. It's so good! Maybe Rakdos' Return alter... yeah it doesn't make sense but let's face it, this art is awesome.
