I understand how good and necessary FoW is in rare cubes, even unpowered ones. My question is more for peasant cubes, I am curious how necessary it is in them. I have a peasant cube, and it feels to me like there aren't any spells so powerful that the card disadvantage is worth it unless you're already in too deep in which case the disadvantage might be even worse. I just wanted some opinions on why it might actually be worth it at peasant level. Thanks so much.
Force of Will is valuable not just for stopping bombs, but as a tempo card.
If you can drop a threat on each turn and stall or preempt their stabilization with force, you can likely push through the kill rather easily. If you ever see aggressive blue, force is an excellent support card.
Also, it's great in control since you can drop your finisher with force coverage despite tapping out.
Just got to say, you've definitely earned distinction as an MTGS hero

Because he's the hero MTGS deserves, and the one it needs right now. So we'll global him. Because he can take it. Because he's not just our hero. He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector. An expired rascal.

I run it. It has been good in Ux tempo decks. If your cube supports blue aggro I would say it has a role. Nobody plays around it either so it tends to have a lot of blowout potential.

I write about cube and run cube drafts on magic online.
It will be good enough. It might be more important the stronger the cube is, because you win more by countering their strongest cards. But blue can always use a great counter. Being free goes a long way too:)
It won't be too overpowering for a peasant cube either.
Well, your not going to miss something you haven't tried in that format. I'd recommend proxying the card for a couple drafts and see if the card has a positive effect on blues ability to close out the game.
It's good enough, but like any other card, it's not absolutely necessary to include it.
Nothing is absolutely necessary in any cube, but I think FoW is a fair card and is reasonable to include in peasant because its power-level is relative to both the format and the cards available. CA is less common in Peasant so FoW will always be a bit more borderline.
Part of the reason I built a peasant cube instead of a normal cube is that I don't have a ton if money to blow. FoW is freaking expensive so I wouldn't ever buy the actual card, however I did manage e to find a gold bordered copy from the masters deck series for 2 bucks. i sharpied the edges and it's hard to even tell the difference from a real FoW. #winning.
FoW is a great card period. I have found its hardcast about 50% of the time, and in peasant that's OK.

I feel compelled to repeat everything I hear
I think it's a fun and cool card and totally worth playing if you have one. But, I wouldn't go out of my way to get one for a peasant cube.
