Well, I hadn't planned on posting this yet, but since I've had some people questioning my about my list, I figure "Why not help the community?" So I will unveil my Sygg list, which, in some ways, resembles something akin to what a UB Delver(which, ironically, doesn't play Delver of Secrets XD) would look like, IMHO. I do feel that a lot of my card choices are fairly self-explanatory, but of course, any questions anybody may have, any comments, or alternative card choices, feel free to post 'em, so we can discuss them and decide which is the best direction to take this deck. This list, I feel, seems to derive much of it's success by preying on the decks whose only semblance of a mana curve starts at five or six(which by that point, the game is already locked up, or at least well on it's way to being locked). That's not to say it won't win against other relatively curved decks, it is still very powerful, and sometimes even the slightest misplay against it will cost you the whole match.
This is on MODO, hence the more easily attained Juzám Djinn, and similar cards.
Also, unlike my Kaalia of the Vast deck, this has no opportunity to be tweaked into a multiplayer deck without changing the entire list because you cannot play a Tempo strategy in multiplayer.
A couple of notes, as I expect people to question a couple of inclusions;
1) Bonesplitter- A fine equipment that is well-costed both in converted mana cost, and equip cost, but more importantly, it allows any single creature to turn on Sygg on it's own.
2) Coastal Piracy- Who says Edric, Spymaster of Trest is the only one to draw mass amounts of cards this way? This card is like a legitimate four mana Time Stretch for this deck. I have never lost a game that it resolved in. Bonus points if you have an active Bitterblossom before you resolve this.
3) Bloodline Keeper- Yes it's weak to removal and bounce. So are a lot of other cards. This card will win the game for you if unanswered, and in short order too. I feel that makes this card quite worth it. If he flips, it's almost always GG. 4/4 flying tokens. 4/3 self-recursive Bloodghast. So. Powerful. I personally believe I have all the tools needed to protect this thing and make sure that it wins for me.
And there you have it. My take on playing Tempo with this general. Have fun, and again, any questions feel free to ask!
I'm just going to edit in my IRL list here as well, which is a bit different from the MODO one, and is a bit more "U-ish".
A few notes, I do own a Vampiric Tutor and Demonic Tutor however they are in my Kaalia of the Vast deck. That said, I feel I have a strong enough draw engine, I do not commonly find myself actually needing a tutour. And when I do, my Mystical Tutor has performed well enough finding Bribery or, when I'm ready to win, Time Warp. I guess if you really wanted to add them, you could, replacing most likely Preordain and *maybe* Ancestral Vision(man this card is so powerful but soooooo slow). But tbh, as I mentioned, I don't find myself wishing for a tutour at all really.
Clutch of the Undercity and Cryptic Command are two of the cards I would expect in Sygg as they both further the tempo aspect. I think it is worth playing both vampiric/mystical tutors, if only to tutor for a turn 3 undermine / turn 2 bitterblossom. I could see adding both wasteland and rishadan port as mana denial.
I don't really see the point of teferi in here as he does not really further your plan. Have you ever had problems casting mistbind clique as you don't play that many faeries. Do you have any reason not to include jace 2.0, liliana of the veil and the U cantrips ponder and preordain?
I am not familiar with online prices so if any of these are due to card availability I can understand that.
and teferi is AMAZING because he single handedly shuts down counterspells and instant shenanigans on your turn
I run my sygg in multiplayer A LOT and hence I do not have targetted discard except for Mind Twist
in multiplayer I believe you run very much like zedruu where you control the politics in the game [do not think it works out very well online] and I am usually left very much alone as everyone needs me to control crazy plays via counterspells

Teferi is terrible. He costs 5 mana and stops a needless part of your opponent's strategy.
You're the tempo deck, all you need to do is hit 3 damage a turn and sit back with your own counters and disruption. There's no reason to screw a perfectly good starting hand with a 5 drop, or draw dead late game.

Tantarus: It didn't make the gaka greifer level, so it should be fine
Hi guys thanks for your feedback! I am on my phone
at the moment so I cant do detailed replies yet but will when I get
home.
Cryptic command is an amazing card and if i had the $10
i would snap it up quick. Do you really think Clutch of the Undercity is worthwhile?
i like the life loss and all for the draw but i am unsure where it fits.
i have not had any immediate issues with Mistbind Clique
As I always have an oona's prowler, v-clique, or blossom token lying around.
Likewise cost is an issue on jace2, port and wasteland one of which is $30a the other being $50. Jace of course being like $40.
One last thing, why is teferi unadvisable here Gaka?
he turns off counters, and lets me flash critters in, and
bashes for 3the himself. He also hoses suspend as well.
LMK i value. Everyone's input. I had just won an event with this list
so i had assumed it was of optimal level.
Right. So Teferi can stay then? 3 power, flash, my Juzám and co. has flash is good, no?
Vial has been fine for me, I usually let it fluctuate between two and three cmc. EoT Bobs, V-Cliques, Bone Shredders is awesome, obv. Maybe I need more than my current suite of 26 critters?
I did try Delver, and he is awesome when he works, and crap when he doesn't. I found him commonly taking three turns to flip which I decided was not consistent enough. Maybe I need more counters?
I have Grim Tutor because it was $2.75 when I got it a year ago. Vampiric meanwhile is like $46.
Ninja is fine, perhaps I should re-add him over my Skinrender?
Standstill seems decent enough, though I think I'd like it more in conjunction with Rishadan Port. I worry about being the one to break my own 'Still a bit, though Æther Vial" target="blank">Æther Vial certainly helps me play around it.
And about Grafted Wargear, I used to run it but I noticed Bonesplitter did the same job, but better on account of it not having that pesky "sacrifice this creature" clause. Since ultimately it doesn't matter how much I connect for, as long as I get a minimum of three, the rusty axe is more consistent for me.
Do you have any reason not to include jace 2.0, liliana of the veil and the U cantrips ponder and preordain?
Yeah, Liliana and Jace are cost, the cantrips I don't feel that I need because my general is built-in CA. it's the same reason why I don't play Top, I draw enough cards that Top becomes a bad mana sink.
Hey 3drinks its thyartismurder cant wait to test this with you on mtgo list looks solid man u gotta get big jace tho man he needs no explanation anyways man kudos on the list
Hey 3drinks its thyartismurder cant wait to test this with you on mtgo list looks solid man u gotta get big jace tho man he needs no explanation anyways man kudos on the list
Hey dude, thanks.
Yeah I know I need a Big Jace, I just can't do the $40 for him right now, so I just have to make for now. He'll replace Baby Jace though eventually.
I have a sygg deck for a long time. IMHO any cards cost more than 3 (except big jace, maybe tezzeret 2.0 depends on your style ) are unacceptable. I do not want to say winter orb is a must. It depends on your play group. It shoot dwon control and ramp decks right the way, but bad to against elf and edric.
There may not be enough counters in your deck. Since the creatures quality in a sygg deck may not be as good as other ones, you may need more counters or removes to balance the game. BTW: Remove soul is better than most black remove in the game.

So it's not proper to play Vendilion Clique, Teferi, Juzam, or Damnation? What about ninja costs(like deep hours is a four drop, but ninjas in for 2)? Or guys like shadowmage infiltrator with in-built evasion and CA on a three cmc body?
Thanks for your help!
edit: do you have a list for reference still? also, I realize now i listed clique and finkel, but you said any more than three is bad. so i guess that means those guys are fine.
I'll second Clutch of the Undercity, that and Undermine are probably the first things is put in Sygg. The life loss is obviously good, the bounce fits the tempo strategy, and you can transmute it for sweet stuff like Coastal Piracy, Damnation, Wydwen and Big Jace, when you get one. Also I see Adept and MoW, what about the new Mist Raven? The evasion seems worth paying an extra 1.

Ooh, Mist Raven seems important, especially as I like mah bounce. I agree that Clutch seems quite important as well.
Updated adding my IRL Sygg to the main post. haven't played my Sygg online much recently, playing other decks like Lyzolda, Horobi, Glissa, Kaalia, etc.
Small update. Added Complicate over Devastation Tide as either I Miracle it when I don't want it, or I have to spend five on my turn, which I do not want with this deck. It is NOT Evacuation, for sure. Complicate gives me another answer(god I feel like I'm playing permission and not tempo, lol) and draws me a card for it, and is mostly uncounterable.
The other change is replacing Rhystic Study with a hidden gem I discovered last night, Unfulfilled Desires. It's like the Rhystic Study that isn't dead on turn 12. I know what you're thinking, why not Compulsion instead? Compulsion is1U mana to activate, while this just 1 to use which, of course, makes a world of difference to a tempo deck. I have very high hopes for this card.
So far it is alright. Admittedly, I like my IRL one a little more, for being even lighter on creatures, but this deck doesn't need an overwhelming board presence to work. Just enough to punch for three.
Honestly, if I had the Dark Confidant and Vendilion Clique from my MODO list in my IRL(cutting Teferi and...probably Ancestral(man it's so good but soooooooo slow) I would say that would be my perfect creature suite.
Which unfortunately can't happen because I can't replicate my IRL list on MODO(Daze is like $6 and Jace2 is a forty dollar bill, oh and Tangle Wire is like $30). On the flip side, Cliques and Bobs are pretty ridiculous in price IRL. Oh, and the Bitterblossom from the MODO list added to the IRL one(probably replace a counter or something lol).
After a lot of digging, here is what I was able to come up with. I wasn't willing to borrow from my main deck. A lot of choices are for lack of a better card. I plan on drafting up a "budget-less" when I get the chance.
No doubt. Funny thing, when I first saw Edric, I thought he was some recently printed card. My jaw dropped when I found he was printed in one of those Commander pre-made decks a year ago. It shows how long I've been away.
Anyways..I'm not dead set on any shell at the moment. I read a comment by Khymera in his primer about Flying Men and I ran with it. The way it came off sounded as if he was a bit jaded about the deck and some of his card choices when he mentioned Flying Men as a serious solution. I think Khymera was onto something though. Flying is one of the most most common and pervasive forms of "evasion".
I may make this my primary deck and rip my duals, fetches and other superior cards from my main, but for now I'm pretty satisfied with what as able to find in my boxes and binders.
I think Sygg can be taken to the top tier. It will just require Deep Analysis of the deck and archetype overall.
I agree that Sygg can definitely reach a top tier. Some of the games I play with my own Sygg feel like they just aren't even fair. It's kind of weird though how a deck can be successful when it's primary concern is "deal three damage a turn". But, as evidenced by the number of times I play a t1 Delver of Secrets into t2 flip, bash three, play Sygg, draw a card, and that opening sequence has taken me to the mid--even the late game with just those two guys. Once I had someone on fifteen life like that because I kept drawing counters and he was fighting through my Tangle Wire, then I rip Echoing Truth when I lose the last counter, so bounce Wire, replay, and finish locking him out...all while just bashing for three. He conceeded to the recast of Wire though as he knew he couldn't stabilize in time.
I guess I want to disagree with building Sygg as this "flying men variant", more so than just the "bash three" style. Unlike Edric, Sygg doesn't care how many guys you have on board, as long as you can connect for that mythical number. That's why Bonesplitter will be your best equipment in your deck. No lie. That little old rusty axe gets so much value for me. Cheap to cast. Cheap to equip. Turns even Bitterblossom tokens into CA generators.
Nothing against Khymera, of course, that guy is a beast at deck building. I've read several of his decklists, and they have helped me to understand the inner workings and apply those same concepts to my own existing decks(that's how my "Auntie Lyzolda" came about).
