Any thoughts on this card? A friend of mine was trying to convince me that it's worth running in the Cube but I just don't see it. I much prefer my current suite of artifact destruction attached to creatures (none of which have the "summoning sickness" downside). This guy can hit multiple artifacts over multiple turns AND do damage, which is nice...but on a 1/3 body for 3? Red doesn't really want to durdle around spending mana on this guy on T-4 & T-5 when it wants to cast finishers & burn spells.
For a point of reference my Cube is 475 cards (about to go to 500) but I just don't see this guy making it.
It's a good card for some formats but cube is just too good and too fast for him to shine. I don't think he makes the cut at 720. Maybe at 800 or 900 cards you would start to have to run such suboptimal artifact destruction/red 3-drops.
It's really broken in an artifact themed cube. But in a regular cube, I'd much rather have an ETB trigger for several reasons. The artifact destruction is faster, there's no additional costs and the body is a better attacker.
Yeah, a typical red deck will want to have the artifact destroyed on/by turn 3, so it can curve out. The fact that there are creatures that will kill it and attack a turn later is exactly that.
It failed testing at 700+ cards for us. It was a lot better when I tested an artifact-themed cube, but still slow and disruptable. There are enough better artifact destruction effects, on and off sticks, that I wouldn't consider him until 900. With an abundance of artifacts in the correspondingly themed cube, I'd run him at 400, mainly because of the artifact lands.
Somehow this is the first I've heard of this card. I like it as my cube definitely can have artifacts run a bit wild, even at 720 with what we'd thought was a sizeable chunk of artifact removal.
I might test it out replacing Seething Song which has literally never been played.

This doesn't surprise me. I think Seething Song is butt. And even though I'm not a huge fan of the Heretic, I think it's a big improvement over the Song.

I'd try to find room for it from 500-540 onwards.
On spoiled card wishlisting and 'should-have-had'-isms:
