I was wondering how vexing devil would look in jund? Does anyone see any room for a set of the little devil mainboard? I think he adds good pressure, has a huge target on his head and can also deal some direct damage if he doesnt come into play. Coupled with bob hes real easy on life, and can go good along side goyf. What do yall think?

i think vexing devil is too much aggresive for jund, IMO. The fact that it could deal damage in the face instantly, and a 4/3 for R is good. But the thing here is, i think people intend to just choose the 4 damage instead of staring down a 4/3 in a couple of turns. In comparison, i.e.: wild nacatl (which is banned, and im happy) and grim lavamancer, pretty much stronger than the devil, it has a more stability on being a solid creature.
So i think for jund, i will choose grim lavamancer over vexing devil, because it sticks a lot longer, and it hurts your opponents and their creatures a lot better. Hope it explains my opinion clear here. My grammar stinks, sorry, btw.
1. Jund isn't a pure aggro deck. Doing 4 damage as a one-off effect isn't all that great for us. I know jund runs bolt, but bolt is used more for removal than for doing damage to players.
2. What do you plan on taking out to run vexing devil?

--this explains better, nice! That being said, for me if you want a t1 creature, will choose lavamancer over the devil, coz it could do repeatable 2 damage to creatures and players instead of a single shot 4 damage to only player's face, IMO.
Vexing Devil is better for an aggro deck like Zoo. Jund is a midrange deck and very commonly drags the game out. The problem with the devil is as a turn 1 play he's beast but discard is our strong turn 1. Late game however he's pretty much a dead draw and giving your opponent the choice is never a good idea.
Thanks for the opinions, im trading for some bobs and I dont own any goyfs so I was wondering if vexing D would be a sufficient substitute. I might still try and test it just to see how it plays out...

Skin shifter, or porceal legionare are the best subs for goyf, if u cant afford them wait for them to reprint him, aslo his value is dropping because of all the power house low cmc creatures out now like delver and geist of saint taft
you can do some neat stuff with vexing devil. imagine early gameplay throwing out a vexing devil, poppin off an undying evil on it and then flinging it. thats 12 in one pop.

Jund wants resilint 2-1 creatures devil is not what jund is looking for especially because our optimal play is turn one hand disruption turn 2 bob or goyf devil is not good unless he is in a hyper aggro deck imo
If you wouldn't play Lava spike in your deck, chances are, you don't want to be playing Vexing Devil.
I don't even think Devil is very good in pure burn.
I like this anology. Same goes for goblin guide. Golbin Guide would be better than vexing devil in Jund, but Jund doesn't play Goblin Guide either. Besides, there's nothing to take out for it. The only role vexing devil could possibly fill is either lightning bolt or tarmogoyf, and we need both of those cards.

See RDW or Burn. Jund shouldn't be trying to pull this.

First, you can't Undying in response to your opponent choosing to pay 4 life, so you'd have to play Devil, Evil it, let your opponent choose (at this point, no one will choose to take 4) and then have a 4/3 for the bargain price of RB and 2 cards.... not that impressive. You can then fling it and it'll come back which makes it either 4 damage and a 5/4 or 8 damage for 1RRB and 3 cards... still not great.
Second, even if the Undying trick worked like you wanted it to, it'd still only be 8 damage since, if your opponent pays 8 life to keep the Devil out of play twice, it wouldn't be in play to Fling.
