Bear with me here because I rarely if ever play black. However I am a big fan of the Undying mechanic, have always wanted to add the more black Undying cards to my deck building and have up up with a creature aggro deck which abuses undying, and adds in some life draining of Blood Artist.
Now the gist of the deck is straight forward. Play dude, turn dude sideways, try to beat face. But where this deck shines is that you can be aggressive with your attacking and blocking. On top of that You kind of want your guys to die in this deck so you can get more triggers off of Blood Artist.
The rest of the deck is filled with decent black removal and Garruk Relentless because he gives you more and more fodder to sack and can also act as removal and a creature fetch.
Obviously this deck is missing a couple of key black cards. The first being Geralf's messenger. I so much want to make him fit in this deck but his triple black on turn 3 is darn near impossible to ensure in this deck. On top of that I would love to add Liliana, but again kind of teetering on the double black on turn 3. I am already getting away with a double green on turn 2 with Strangleroot geist and needing double black on the next turn makes playing both of these cards in the deck kind of rough.
But tell me what you think, and make sure to give me some suggestions.
Updated Changes and reasons for the change
Added 2 Falkenrath Nobles because they are blood artist 5 and 6.
Added 2 Lead the Stampede. with 28 creatures, good chance the Lead will lead to 3 plus creatures, and this deck needs creatures to be fully functional
Dropped Land count to 22. My curve stops at 4, and I have been drawing way to many lands so dropped fro, 23 to 22
Put Mortarpod in the sideboard. Good card, but I tended to get tunnel vision with Mortarpod instead of of letting my creatures do the work.
added 1 Glissa in the sideboard just for kicks and giggles and to see if she can hold her wait.

Yea, those are MTG Bars. What can I say, I am a dork
Ulvenwald Tracker does some nice things as pointed out by Gino; but it is also the bait to keep your Blood Artist's alive. I really like this deck concept but the use of Demonlord of Ashmouth is rather troubling, I can see him being a nice beater, but if you have nothing on the field come t4 outside of your artist you are kind of sunk. That being said, Harvester of Souls is a nice fatty that can also draw you into removal. I feel that you could use another Garruk or play around with a two of Liliana as she is a nice sac outlet.
I think that the Grim Backwoods will mess up land base if your wanting to drop a strangleroot geist on t2, plus with all the other engines for losing your creature i really dont think its worth it, 5 mana to sacrifice a creature to draw one card seems... iffy for me.
I agree that demonlord of ashlord is troubling, at least a 4 of, i would recommend dropping at least 2 to be honest, also why not have a Grave Titan in this deck? 6 mana for 3 creatures and next turn hopefully 2 more, seems like a good idea lol
I spented much of last night before I fell asleep contemplating an interesting variation that focuses on a combination of Deathtouch plus Fight, but I am currently sitting in class, so I will post my list later on today.
But, I would like to know your thoughts about putting Ambush Viper in the sideboard.
The reason why I do not want Wolfir Avenger is that you cannot regenerate if you sac it and I am going to be doing more saccing in this deck then straight up destruction. It is a good card but not 100 percent neccessary.
But I will drop the Demonlords to 2 of and possibly drop the vorapede and add 2 mortarpods and two Ulvenwald trackers. That gives the deck a little more removal and have better ways to trigger blood artist.
I was thinking of Either Soul of the Harvest (which is nuts with Undying) Harvester of Souls, or Grave Titan in the six drop spot but was worrying that I will hardly ever have a chance to drop a 6 drop, it might not be beneficial.

Wow. I really like this. I would definitely add Liliana, maybe two copies? What about a singleton Conjurer's Closet in the SB? It can reset your Undying Triggers and has fun synergy with Acidic Slime
Definitely a big fan of Blood Artist and a supporter of this deck.
As of now I'm trying a G/B version. I was so tempted to make a "Jundying" deck...but I felt the manabase would be pushed too far without Birds and/or other reliable color fixing. That being said, I am still considering Jund Artist.
Demonlord of Ashmouth is just one of those cards that people can't quite seem to agree on. It has a clear synergy here and would top the curve nicely if it weren't so demanding sometimes. How can we make it less demanding? Can we?
Speaking of curve...I don't think this deck can rely much on anything costing more than 4 or 5 mana. There are some 5 and 6 drops that can work in this deck.
But unless these more expensive spells can act as a clear finisher, we may not need them.
I'm reworking the deck right now, so hopefully I can post a list soon. Until then, I'm interested to see where we can go with this deck. It's got very fun mechanics and my friends already hate that damned Blood Artist.

I agree with almost everything you said here. Going the jund route seems fun, but the mana would be atrocious with the curve of the deck, so I definitely agree with you there.
Now With the Demonlord Question I made it a two of in my deck, and the one card that I put in that might sound surprising or bad but believe it or not made Demonlord as well as Demonic Taskmaster less of a hindrance was Driver of the Dead. Now it sounds crazy because it is not even really good in limited, but with this deck have 16 creatures of 2 mana or less, this card makes it so the saccing clause of some of the cards in this deck not that hard to achieve. I have tested the card and even I was amazed at how well this card smoothed out the deck.

I like the Driver. It makes sense. Like Metamorph maindeck.
Couple questions considering you've probably tested this new version out a bit...
How has Viridian Emissary worked for you? With Emissary, I can see 1 or 2 6 drops making their way into the deck. Maybe...
I noticed you dropped the Grim Backwoods...would you consider it as a 2 of or just not even bother with it? I play it as a 2 of and it doesn't seem to disrupt my game very often. Although it CAN disrupt early play and it's activation cost isn't always convenient.
You mentioned Ulvenwald Tracker in an earlier post. What do you think of him in this deck?
I am glad I found this thread. I was brewing something similar last night. Right now I am working with Bloodartist, Gravecrawler(which I am thinking of replacing), Glissa/myr, demonlord, silverheart and the deathtouch sb guy. Ill post a list soon as I am home.
I like the idea of garruk and mortarpod, especially with peddler. Also instead backwoods, why not use Altar's reap if you want CA. Abundant growth comes to mind.
I hadnt got a chance on giest as I havent had much chance to test.
So, as you can see the major idea is to abuse Ulvenwald Tracker/prey upon with either deathtouch or undying to trigger Blood Artist. Harvester of Souls is interchangeable with his color shifted brethern Soul of the Harvest. This deck is chock full of creature kills and geared towards an aggro filled metagame.
My love for blood artist is bordering on the obsessive
I hear ya! It's the reason I looked to build a new commander deck (Teysa Tokens) even; though I never thought of using it in standard, but the R/B and G/B combinations for it look amazing.
What's your opinion of the list above you, I saw you pushing Culling Dais in your thread, do you think it would feel better than the Souls? I mean, the red version has better access to kills through the burn, so the GB feels as if it has to be designed to last longer.
I made this deck about two hours before the last game day and it did moderately well. It is a bit off on numbers since I assembled it with what I had on hand. I fiddled a bit with it and feel happy with it but it's not perfect. I wanted to try Blood Artist's big brother, Falkenrath Noble out since it had the potential to kill spirit tokens and attack if need be. So far, even for 3B he is a big assist. Then Massacre Wurm just made sense to keep the theme, which I might need another one for.
I have a small bit of ramp in here with the Emissaries and Solemns which I definitely gets me to the fatties. My big creatures are the Wurm, Mikaeus for undying and kills annoying Mirran Crusaders, and Sheoldred for sac and return. I like all of them but haven't test enough to pick the best.
The sideboard is a bit thrown together and not fully tested, but Surgical Extractions and Nihil Spellbombs are commonly used to rid me of annoying threats I killed. I want to have a time to try out the Spider Spawning and Sylvok Replicas, but I haven't played them yet. The Tragic Slips never feel useful in my area and I'll probably take them out for another Killing Wave or Black Sun.
After looking over many of the other lists here, I somehow overlooked Young Wolf as an option. Also, I had been considering Perilous Myr since with Glissa I could machine gun little dudes. Though I went with Disciple of Griselbrand for the 2 drop slot since he allows me sac on a whim, which can save guys from Pillar of Flame or just gain advantage before they remove it with minor life gain. I don't own any Garruk Relentless, but I might pick him up since he works quite well with the deck.
The deck has been fun and has had go luck against the R/B version of Blood Artist.
This is what I wanna try to run before my draft tomorrow. I took out peddlers b/c they were kinda dead. Glissa > Silverheart is pretty silly. I ran some dry runs through my gauntlet. It kinda had some trouble with some of the decks, but who doesnt have trouble with flipped delver w/ mana leak or t3 BoP sword. I am still looking for ideas for SB material( Corrosive gales, Replicas). I will also probably throw in a 2/2 split with metamorph and myr.
How often did you to get to use Mikaeus? He seems pretty nasty, but doesnt really do it like Massacre Wurm IMHO. I think both are a lil mana intensive tho for under 24 lands.
Wow cannot believe I forgot about Falkenrath Noble . Need to think of a way to get him into the deck. Blood Artist with wings and power sounds like a very good card.

Back when Undying first became a mechanic I saw a lot of people doing the G/B undying pod decks and they just did not seem all that consistent. Yes you can obviously abuse Birthing Pod, but it would have to be used like how Naya Pod is used in that the Naya pod decks work very well and are powerful, without having to use the Pod, but you have Pods in there to bring it over the top. The issue is with G/B when people play pod they get tunnel vision and think strictly about the chain, and this deck would not work that well if you focus on the chain aspect of pod.

I like pretty much all of the Above and agree with most of it
but thought of some stuff that I don't think anyone else considered
what about trying to use Undying Evil for more fun now I know most of the good cards in this deck already have undying but it could be a blowout if they gut shot your Blood Artist then go for a field wipe and you bring him right back and make him take DMG to the dome... maybe its just me but when ever I play against a deck with Blood Artist I always target him first.
