Was wondering what you guys think about Season of the witch this card in a monoblack deck for cube. Seems like a really nice hoser on utility. I'm thinking even one turn of making their guys forced to attack (especially even in later parts of the game) of bullying up their utility, or forcing them to use their utility and pumps before combat might be nice. And, you don't have to pay the 2 life if you don't want to use it.
Feels like something to complicate decision making and bluffing, but not really precise in taking out their guys.
Have yet to try it out. I also have an 800 size cube, which is drafted and used as sealed differently.
Additonally, I'm actually a bit confused on how this card even works. Example, If I don't attack with my Prodigal Pyromancer, but ping with it before I use this trigger (say before this goes on the stack), will the Pyromancer still be killed off?

Your terminology confuses me a little (a triggered ability isn't something which is "used", they just kinda trigger :)), but if you mean before the triggered ability resolves, this question is answered at the link to your card under gatherer rulings:
"It looks back to see which creatures could have attacked during the "declare attackers" step of combat even if this card was not on the battlefield when the attack was declared."
So the pyromancer would be destroyed even if you tap it after the declare attackers phase. But not if you tap it before that.
Regardign the card in cube: It's not the kind of narrow effect I want in a cube unless it enables some sort of archetype, which I don't think this does. I find it hard to see the time it will be very useful. I mean, it's decent against a Dark Confidant, but not against a whole lot of other creatures in cube. I also have a hard time envisioning which deck you're playing that wants this effect.
Yea I was trying to figure out which deck this would even fit in and at the 3 cost slot. I'm really starting to find this card as a "more screw/win" than anything.
If you already have superior board advantage, then it could potentially speed up the inevitable.
Plus, it is pretty hard to often draft a full on mono color deck, and there are way better three slotters in both Colorless and Black then this
EDIT: Korla and Reaver Thanks for the clarifications on how this card works, I read the ruling, but was trying to be sure that it checked the cards before going into combat.

And not particularly cubable either, for all the reasons mentioned above.
A pity, since I adore the illustration.
Cheers!
