Chandra gets no love as one of the more mediocre walkers. In cube however i have had really good experiences with both Chandra nalaar is ACS sorcery speed 6 damage to a creature, or 2 for 1'ing creatures over 2 turns, and she can ping pretty well. chandra, the firebrand has a lot of fun spells to replicate, but i feel she is actually weaker, though she is excellent at pinging enemy walkers, and tokens, x/1's. Chandra Ablaze is about a burning inquiry but i wouldnt recommend for most cubes(at what size would someone put this in cube?
Nalaar is amazing hands down. Firebrand is on the chopping block in 450 for me just because she is fizzle-y. If "Not once ever" is a valid size, that's where I put Ablaze. If she was a 3(maybe 4...?) drop with less loyalty she'd be cubable.
Chandra Nalaar is really good, IMO. She's one of red's few answers to bigger creatures, and unlike the other X spells, she can shoot Titans for 5 mana. Or shoot Baneslayers and live. She has a reasonable {+1}, she has a TON of starting loyalty, and an obtainable ultimate that's really nasty. I played her at 360 and I think she's an easy include for 450 card cubes.
Chandra Ablaze is a tad too expensive. She's good when you dump your hand full of fast manafacts to the board and cast her on like T2-3, crushing your opponent's hand and drawing cards for you, resulting in massive CA. But her + ability is rough unless you combine her with Squee, so she's hard to build up loyalty on, especially since she resolves so late in the game. And her ultimate is super narrow. I wouldn't cube this card. Maybe in an 810 card list, but still probably not.
Chandra, the Firebrand is good, but I can live without her. Her + ability is fine, but it's a bit lackluster. 1 damage on T4 isn't enough. Her - ability is great, but it's hard to cast her and use it in the same turn, meaning that you'll have to settle for a Granite Shard effect the turn she resolves. She's one of the few cubeable spell copying effects, which is cool, but ultimately just kinda gimmicky. I think she's worth including somewhere in the 540-630 range.

Can't add anything to this. I run Chandra Mk I at 320 and she's not near the block, she's a really solid source of CA.
I think that Chandra 1 is easily the best of them. That said, I'm starting to see her as a marginal card at the 450 level. She's not a slam dunk for me more (since I'm always trying to get more low powered stuff in there, and at the top end she's competing with stuff like SGC, Conscripts, Thundercats (Hellkite), Titan, Earthquake etc).
Red doesn't want lots of awesome 5 drops. No colour wants lots of awesome 5 drops. Red wants more 1-2 drops.
Ablaze has been great for me. She doesn't really do a lot, but she gets there. It's mainly for the hand restocking that she's used for. It usually benefits the opponent as well, so they leave her alone, which allows for the occasional burn. Never used her ultimate.
We haven't played enough with the Firebrand to make a consensus. My initial feelings was not good enough, but it remains to be seen.
Chandra Ablaze would be ok if she costed 1 less. Still not great, just ok. Since she was a late addition to Zendikar and Wizards wanted to play it safe, she costs six instead of five, making her one of the worst planeswalkers in existence. Purely by her power to cost ratio, mind you. Unlike Nissa Revane, whose abilities are worthless in cube, Ablaze's abilities are fine. They just don't come at an appropriate cost.
It never came up that you had multiple burn spells in your graveyard and your opponent was on a low life total? Or was it just because you were using her second ability more often than her first one?
Chandra, the Firebrand is ok and one of the funnier walkers. Super great if you support the Wildfire deck - it's so busted with wildfire.
Chandra Ablaze is not really that good, but I still play her in my cube. It's one of those misplaced a bit too expensive cards, that when it works is funny and feels like you achieved something great. And that's my primary reason for running her.

A bit of both. Usually there was nothing worthwhile to reuse as it was usually red permanents being pitched for the effect and burn is highly spread out among the drafters due to ease of splashing. By the time she got out, the opponent's usually in the red zone which makes the first ability more useful. Combined with constantly emptying the hand and refresh, she does well. She's also done well with ramp decks and decimating the opponent's hand on T4 or so, which really puts a damper on control decks.
I'm willing to admit though, my cube tends to end up in the mid-range part and I'm paring it down in favor of more aggro, so that may end up affecting her performance.
