Default [CS] 3 cards from Beckett Magazine (scans now up)

Three new cards from Beckett Magazine:

Haakon, Stromgald Scourge 1bb
Legendary Creature - Zombie Knight
You may play Haakon, Stromgald Scourge from your graveyard, but not from anywhere else.
As long as Haakon is in play, you may play Knight cards from your graveyard.
When Haakon is put into a graveyard from play, you lose 2 life.
3/3

Sek'Kuar, Deathkeeper 2brg
Legendary Creature - Orc Shaman
Whenever another nontoken creature you control is put into a graveyard from play, put a 3/1 black and red Graveborn creature token with haste into play.
4/3

Sound the Call 2g
Sorcery
Put a 1/1 green Wolf creature token into play with "This creature gets +1/+1 for each card named Sound the Call in each graveyard".

These cards are real.
Orb of insight for the win.

the only problem with Haakon would be getting him into the graveyard in the first place.

Not really in constructed it's easy , just use that wonderful thing known as dredge.
In limited I can hope black will have some targeted discard

A little doubtful but if true, i would love to see a deck built around the Knight! Awesome! (I will probably be laughed at later if these are found to be fake)

How to Haakan into your graveyard? Well, you can Dredge him, there's Compulsive Research, Delerium Skiens, and umm . . . not dropping a land first turn.

Dredge comes to mind. Imp, Darkblast, Life from the Loam would mill it out. Also Mongrel and any discard activated permanent. My bigger concern is to find knights that are good enough. All in all it's a decent card for a weenie deck, i think...

Haakon will be absolutley insane in limited if there are plenty of knights in the set. I was abit disapointed at coldsnap at the start with all this upkeep rubbish but now that we are getting more cards like these revealed the set is looking abit better.

Rules Question: Can't you just cast him gfrom your hand, and as a result he fizzles and goes to the Grave Yard?

=====================================

Just a thought, any way, I'm loving the Call card.

The wordings seem a little off. If you have the magazine, can you please post the exact wordings for the cards?

Also...I'm a little skeptical. If I remember correctly, a character named Haakon was used in one of the old Magic novels, from the Greensleaves trilogy, to be exact. He was a r/b wizard, dealt with fire, orcs, and goblins.

Granted, this is really the only reason I'm skeptical; I just don't think WotC would re-use a character's name like that, but I may be wrong.

~*EDIT*~
Typo

Did that happen before Iceage? Maybe if it did, he died and now this is his Zombie?

As the card says you can't play it from your hand in the first place. Besides, a spell can only fizzle for the lack of legal targets.

edit: Haakon is definately interesting and hard to remove, if you manage to get this into play in limited. Sound the Call is decent, if you get more than one in your packs.

Orb of insight??

These are all real. (they all check out with the orb, no way can you guess legend names like that haha)
People don't pass off fake cards as magazine info anyway.

I added the knight legend with slightly different wording...let me know if I killed it.

You may only play Haakon, Stromgald Scourge from your graveyard.
As long as Haakon is in play, you may play Knight cards from your graveyard as if they were in your hand.
When Haakon is put into a graveyard from play, you lose 2 life.
