Default 2012 Holiday Gift Box

From the Arcana today:

Quote:
You know how sometimes people want to buy you things? Like, at certain times of the year, well-meaning relatives will express their love through the medium of gifts? It can be tricky buying a present for a Magic player if you don't know much about Magic yourself.

And that's why Wizards of the Coast is introducing the Holiday Gift Box! It's a handsome storage box that holds more than 2,000 cards. The MSRP is $19.99 and it will be available worldwide in English on November 16, 2012.

In addition to the box (and let's face it, you always need more card storage boxes), it comes with:

Four Return to Ravnica booster packs
A pack of twenty Return to Ravnica basic land
Six illustrated plastic dividers
A sticker sheet for customizing the dividers
An alternate-art Dreg Mangler from Return to Ravnica. We're not going to tell you what Dreg Mangler does.
EDIT -
- Confirmed on Twitter that the box does hold sleeved cards. Cube players rejoice.

- Made from "Sturdy Cardboard"

If it's made of plastic then I'm sold. If it's cardboard, then no thanks.

Meh. I suppose it's worth it for the four packs and the box alone. This might actually be useful for organizing commons and uncommons that don't get put in my binder.

The packs are $16 retail, right? So you're paying $3 for a lot of other neat crap. Seems like good value.

Dreg Mangler? More like Dreg Mongler. HE'LL MONGLE YOUR DREGS.

Anyway, I will probably buy this since boxes and dividers are nice.

EDIT: Damn, that art is pretty sweet.

If it can hold sleeved cards I'm interested. Otherwise, not so much. As I would like a nice box to put my cube in although my cube is sleeved for obvious reasons. Seems like a nice product though.

My family wants to get me MtG products that are strictly not packs...so I have something to tell them to get me.

Interesting that they have hybrid mana stickers. Everything else shouts "Ravnica", so I wonder if we will be having hybrid mana in RTR...

If this is $15 - $20 it is a pretty good buy. Boxes that size are easily $2 - $5, 4 boosters are $15, dividers are like $1, land $2, and stickers would be like $1.

I will probably get one.

Those that scoff at the value given here are pretty silly. As stated the 4 packs are nearly the entire price of this thing if you are talking 4 bucks a pack. Obviously some stores sell packs cheaper then that but not all.

Crap I have seen people pay 10 bucks for a Zendikar box from the fat pack alone on Ebay.
