Out of the blackness and stench of the engulfing swamp emerged a shimmering figure. Only the splattered armor and ichor-stained sword hinted at the unfathomable evil the knight had just laid waste.
Real slow card. I could see it played in a very slow grind it out type control deck, but not to much else. I think there are better cards for the cost in the format. Might be a decent budget card for someone just getting into the format tho, if they could make it work.
Mike&Trike is a combo, and Birthing Pod is a deck. It's not quite as powerful as Kiki-Mite variants, but it's also vulnerable to different hate (Leyline of Sanctity, for instance as opposed to Ghostly Prison).
So, I'm going to give this a 2/5, since it is a decent enough combo, and not wholly unplayable on its own either. I'd at least be aware that it is a card.

To elaborate, Mikaeus gives Triskellion Undying, and Triskellion can remove the +1/+1 counters via its own ability. So, if you have Triskellion (Trike) on the field along with Mikaeus (Mike), you can have the Triskellion shoot itself twice with its own ability, then use the other counter to deal damage to a creature or player. Trike goes to the graveyard, then because it has undying via Mike's effect, it comes back with 4 counters, and you have it shoot itself twice with its ability, then get two hits on various creatures or players, which allows you to gun down your opponent's life total and/or all his creatures.

Oh, I see how this works now, thanks. I am still not terribly impressed with a creature combo that requires two six-mana creatures, in a world where the Melira combo and the Kiki-Jiki combo's exist. (Granted, Melira takes three creatures, but they cost a combined seven mana.)
I've never understood why you have to shoot itself twice, instead of just using the ability three times while retaining priority. Does undying not trigger if the creature was put into the yard for having 0 toughness?

1. Triskelion is a 1/1 if you remove all the counters.
2. Mikaeus gives Trisk another +1/+1.
Modern is too fast for you to get two 6-drops on the battlefield.
Legacy, there is Phyrexian Devourer (for the combo with Necrotic Ooze). Vintage, there is Mishra's Workshop. Seriously, this thing is played in Vintage.
All in all, there are better 6-drops, Wurmcoil Engine being one of them.
Too slow for a 6 drop without some trickery, and none of the trickery I've seen seems anywhere near top tier. (At least, it doesn't fit into many existing archetypes and isn't worth brewing a build around when other creature based combos are quicker and more reliable.)
Wurmcoil Engine and the Titans laugh at it.
Nostalgia dictates I like him, though. Back in the day the weirdness of it made me smile.

This is why I started playing magic in the first place. It wasn't PT aspirations just making noobs cry by doing things that are perfectly fair.
I should imagine that at one point grizzly bears was a good 2 drop, but that doesnt really change anything
Grizzly Bears was never good. Well, maybe when Elvish Archers was a 1/2...
Honestly Trike was never really that good. It saw a little play when it was in Standard (it + Mephidross Vampire was for a little while the best T&N package), but if it was ever top-tier it must have been in 1995.

When you peer long enough through the depths, the depths peer also through you.
It has combo potential. Possbily even fast combo potential. A card might be printed that makes Trisk an all start combo piece and remember: it might be a card (or even multiple cards) that allow you to cheat him in or even just use his ability from the grave to combo.

I used to use Trike in my old tron deck as a finisher with some direct damage. Granted this deck also used Sundering Titan and Pentavus as the main finishers, but the trike was useful as well.
Today, there are just a lot better choices than all of those cards mentioned I think. So long trike, I am one of the few who used you.

Without know what that combo is, I would say this card is unplayable in Modern at present. Too much mana for too little effect.
Triskellion + Mikaeus The Unhallowed. It creates infinite damage.
Mike + Trike
