He obviously meant Coldsnap.

Interesting cards, but nothing that really stands out to me. The Rimescale Dragon may make a good finisher.

The Magmatic Core has perfect synergy with Braid of Fire, btw.

It explains where the information came from.

EDIT: So I got the set name wrong. Maybe I don't care for the set enough to get it's name right. (well, that isn't the reason...)

You mean "Coldsnap FAQ," right?

Individual analyses:

Phobian Phantasm: Good in Limited, but outside the cumulative upkeep will hurt. Good finisher.
Martyr of Ashes: Old news.
Balduvian Rage: Who uses Enrage outside of attacking, anyway? That's what makes this strictly better.
Balduvian Frostwaker: Crap.
Balduvian Warlord: Confusing....
Brooding Saurian: If Emminent Domain was still viable, this would be quite the hoser. As it is, it's a solid 4-cost fatty.
Deepfire Elemental: Excellent in Limited, and not too shabby outside of it since it can kill Moxen and cheap creatures. Won't replace Gorilla Shaman in that regard, though. Clever combination of Plaguebearer and Shaman.
Frostweb Spider: I don't really like it.
Gelid Shackles: Won't replace Faith's Fetters, but in Limited it's a bomb.
Greater Stone Spirit: Another good Limited beater.
Herald of Leshrac: And you thought Limited Resources was annoying in multiplayer....
Juniper Order Ranger: Works well with Selesnya decks.
Magmatic Core: Good in Limited, pretty good outside of it. Again, cumulative upkeep isn't a good ability.
Rimefeather Owl: I like this in Limited, and outside it could very well be a hoser. Not going to replace Meloku in my blue deck, though.
Rimehorn Aurochs: Good in Aurochs decks, and the ability is handy too.
Rimescale Dragon: This really isn't a red ability, but it's welcome in that color.
Ronom Hulk: No.
Thermal Flux: Good for a cantrip but nothing else, really.
Tresserhorn Skyknight: Pretty good black flyer. Great in Limited.
Vanish into Memory: I don't really see any major changes to the wording.
Void Maw: Not a good replacement for Leyline of the Void, but a nice finisher.
Wall of Shards: Yes! A Wall! Thank you!!!! But it still sucks.
Woolly Razorback: Seems costed correctly. Balanced, if nothing else.
Zombie Musher: Great in Limited.

Good catches!

*Goes to make a / deck with the Saurian and Sky Swallower*

I definately like most of these cards. I can't wait for Coldsnap.

The Deepfire Elemental reminds me of Plaguebearer. My very first rare out of a booster...

Very, very nice. Thank you so much, bradleyjx.

Although not all of them may be five-star cards, I especially like Rimescale Dragon (which is a 5/5 btw) as a control deck's finisher. The only problem is that if your opponent nukes him, (s)he gets to untap his/her creatures.

However, some of the cards just ooze with flavour!

Edit: I propose Rimescale Dragon be called Winterfresh! Anyone with me?

Ew, I hate the "becomes snow" wording. It sounds so dumb and wrong.

Balduvian Warlord sounds like an Unglued card, along the lines of The Ultimate Nightmare of WotC Customer Service and Ambiguity.

Uhm... I don't like this new cards... the magmatic core could be good with braid of fire. well we got the last two knights... I'm disappointed. The ranger might be good in a selsesnya deck but the black flyer it's waaaay too costly, the other cards just don't tickle my fantasy in anyways (the martyr could be good in a mono red deck)

i really think Coldsnap is REALLY fun. it's so differant than Kamigawa and Ravnica that it really feels refreshing. my only worry is that Time Spiral will feel very similar to this, and it will drive people away who get bored with 4 sets of "old skool."

some neat cards, once Kami rotates, we'll see some VERY fun and creative decks i think.

No dice, rain of gore only affects spells and abilities that that the life gaining player controls. If it was the case that you were thinking, then beacon of immortality and rain of gore would combo for a 20 life point railing.
