Combo Mimeoplasm is a deck that aims to win by turn 5, but can win as early as turn 1. Playing the 3 best colors in EDH, a Mimeoplasm deck has access to the best tutors, the best draw spells, the best protection, and the best creatures. Having access to a reanimate spell as your general is just icing on the cake, and a solid win condition as well.
Why you should play this deck:
-You enjoy having many options every turn
-You enjoy combo
-You like to play with the best cards
Why you shouldn't play this deck:
-You don't enjoy searching your library at least once each turn
-You play in a casual group
-You don't like to make complicated decisions
-You don't memorize deck lists
Gaea's Revenge - A very hard to deal with hasty win con when combined with Mimeoplasm, Death's Shadow, and Wonder Sylvan Safekeeper - Protects win cons or early fatties from targeted removal for (basically) free. Notable synergy when pulling off the Necrotic Ooze combo. Lion's Eye Diamond - Allows for turn 1 wins with the correct hand, allows for early Mimeoplasm while dumping Mimeoplasm targets in the yard. One of the best cards in the deck. Thought Gorger - A filter spell on a usually reasonable sized body. Can draw a lot of cards in a pinch with Mimeo. Skeletal Scrying - Good card draw at instant speed. Usually ends up drawing 4-5 cards. Anti-synergy with Threshhold and Lord of Extinction, but the mana efficiency is great.
Strategy:
The general strategy of this deck usually follows one of two lines of play in the early turns, depending on your hand. First, mulligan aggressively into fast mana, tutors, or combo enablers (Buried Alive, Survival of the Fittest)If you have a good mana rock and a tutor/Buried Alive/Survival of the Fittest, it's usually correct to go Mimeoplasm combo (with Necrotic Ooze) as fast as you can. If your hand does not have much or any fast mana, try to tutor for a reanimate spell, dump a fatty, and reanimate it. The redundancies in this deck mean that you will almost always be able to go one of these two routes. If either of these lines of play are unavailable, you will have to play a slower game, using the filter spells like Thirst for Knowledge and Compulsive Research you will eventually get into a fatty, reanimate spell, or tutor to eventually set up a combo and win. Don't be too concerned with keeping up card advantage, the recursion in this deck will allow you to come out ok most of the time, and your graveyard feeds your main strategy anyhow.
Weaknesses
-Graveyard hate is quite good against us. Trickbind and Voidslime are in the deck to combat it, but ultimately there's just nothing you can do about it sometimes.
-Counterspells are also quite good against us. We have Cavern of Souls in here which can protect Necrotic Ooze and Mimeo, but our reanimation spells can leave us exposed.
Without further ado, here is my personal deck list!
Very Nice deck, but the Necrotic Ooze Combo does not work, unless one has a deck full of 1 drops. So you may want to reconsider another combo to replace that one.
blood moon and magus of the moon hurts this deck... I think you need different combos too. cut frantic search for crop rotation. you can get bazaar or bog someone at instant speed. you might as well mike and trike, it kills everyone without exiling any part of your deck.
