I do not run black, but when I face someone that does (either vamp, zombies, etc - modern decks), they are running Go for the throat...but quickly sideboard them because I run a modern affinity deck.
I believe the standard vamp decks I have seen had a few doom blades. Each is situational.
Terminate seems only useful if you splash, and you better have a reason to besides that one card ;p
I personally think any deck running black should consider this.
And at the very least consider it in the SB;
I think it's criminally undereplayed given that it hits so many things and so efficiently.
Like, if i were playing Esper Teachings, this would be a 2-of next to the 4 PtEs.
It's a good removal spell, but it misses the format's biggest creatures: Restoration Angel, Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker, and Wurmcoil Engine. Still, it hits so many things that it's definitely worth considering in black decks. Abrupt Decay will be much better in B/G decks once RTR comes out though.
Instant (U)
Destroy target creature with converted mana cost 3 or less. It can't be regenerated.
What do you guys think about this card? Do you prefer Doom Blade or Go for the Throat over it? Is Terminate just better and worth the splash?

Thanks to Rivenor for the signature and XenoNinja for the Avi!

I buy HP and Damaged cards!
Only EDH:
Sigarda, Host of Herons: Enchantress' Enchantments
Jenara, Asura of War: ETB Value Town
Purphoros, God of the Forge: Global Punishment
Xenagos, God of Revels: Ramp, Sneak, & Heavy Hitters
Ghave, Guru of Spores: Dies_to_Doom_Blade's stax list
Edric, Spymaster of Trest: Donald's list
Gopher is a strong second because it doubles as hate for Splinter Twin.

Would not play it in Jund, though.
