Wow, unlike the rest of the Rakdos cards this guy seems playable. Sure his cost is prohibitive, but he's a 6/6 Flying Trample dude for 4, that can potentially reduce the cost of your other creatures.
In aggro he'll either be a major threat on turn 4, or something you play late game as a finisher.
Remember, things like Dismember, Snuff Out, Fetchalnds, City of Brass, and so forth will trigger his castability.
So at the very least I'll give him a try.
Edit: He's also not that bad of a Reanimate target, as a 6/6 Flying Trampler with another upside ability at the cost of 4 life and a B isn't bad.
To be honest, he's decent and would make an impressive dueling commander, but the one thing the Rakdos guild did not need was another four-mana beatstick with upsides in cube. I don't see him edging out Falkenrath Aristocrat or Olivia Voldaren. Also dislike the conditional castability. It means there will actually be times when he's a completely dead card, and that's a terrible place to be for a finisher in any deck. I wish it had been more like affinity for life lost by opponents this turn or something. This isn't the first Rakdos spell with a weird adoption of Gruul's bloodthirst.
And yes, there is definitely something weird going on with the names in this set.
He needs testing in the cube. Not sure if the damage-to-play element is a major downside in cube or not. This is not bloodthirst or prowl, you can't cast him without damage to the opponent. Easier said than done sometimes.

I mean, hell, we're all on a forum for something that most people would describe as a "children's card game"...do what makes you happy. You are never too old to enjoy yourself.
Hard to cast durdles that I sometimes can't even cast with the right mana are not the type of cards I want to Cube with.
Also, I'm really not a fan of creating threads for cards that aren't even 100% confirmed to say nothing of threads for cards that are clearly marginal.
Fake or not, card seems terrible. Rakdos does not need a good 4-drop, and this won't even be cast on turn 4 on average. Total miss for the multi-color section.
The restrictive mana cost and its additional casting restriction will keep this card out of our cube. Its stats are very impressive. If you can live the dream and cast him every turn 4 he would be a staple. A 6/6 flying, trample for 4 is very impressive.
I wish he had a casting cost like Flame Javelin and friends. So you could at least be sure to cast him even if you had just one black or red mana.
Wow you guys are really harsh. This guys is better than olivia and aristocrat imo. He doesn't die as easily as the other two and in cube he becomes even better, making your creature spells cheaper. Seems perfect for Rakdos. I don't understand what kind of power creep you guys are used to, but a 6/6 flying trampler who can usually land on t5 is awesome nuts. His casting cost is NOT prohibitive, unless you are playing 3 colors or more, in which case olivia becomes even worse. He is potentially 360 cubeable.
I like him less than Aristocrat for certain so won't go in my 3-card section. For those with EDH cubes, he'll be a decent draftable general. Good card all round.

THANK YOU. This card is bad. I don't want a CCCC card that has even further restrictions on when I can cast it, and no immediate board impact. Falkenrath Aristocrat makes Rakdos look like complete garbage, and that card is only okay.
He needed haste, shroud or both to justify that awful casting cost and an additional casting restriction. Yuck.
I want more good Rakdos cards more than anybody. I despise the current Rakdos suite. And this card is just plain awful.
Wow, I actually like him a lot. His mana cost is pretty prohibitive, though. What's your take on him?
The combo potential of this guy is quite obscene. That being said, he is not a cube card, but my lord would he be nutz in EDC casting quite literally any creauture or multiple creatures that cost 7+ on turn 5.

rakdos is typically a pretty fast combination. reducing the cost of creatures after i cast my curve topper is pretty much the least useful in rakdos of all the guilds.

BBRR and a guaranteed damage requirement is extremely prohibitive. i don't think he's even close to cubeable at 360. if the card is real, i won't be playing it.
When I see Healing Salve, I'm often like "Oh girl, I wish I could turn every card into this." Thanks they removed the gain life part, otherwise this would have been broken.
Would you play the card if it'd cost 2BB (and you could somehow only play it in a BR deck)?
The probabilities of being able to cast the card asap are almost identical (compared to a card that costs 4): 90,5% for the 2BB card vs 90,2% for this card. In other words: The difference in casting cost only matters in less than 1 in 300 games.
Can you tell me what mana base you are using for this calculation? It seems like the probablity of getting 3/1, 1/3, 4/0, 0/4, or a 3 + a colorless producer as your first four lands are higher than 1 in 300.
Edit: Also, are you comparing it to a card that costs 4, or that costs 2BB?
Would you play the card if it'd cost 2BB (and you could somehow only play it in a BR deck)?
This is a worthless question. If I can only play it in BR, the casting cost is not 2BB. It's RRBB. And there have been TONS of times that I can recall not having perfect double-colors of both mana when I get my 4th land in my 2 color decks. Tons of times.
7 Swamps, 7 Mountains, 3 duals.
I'd say this is almost a perfect mana base, not an average mana base. Eliminate one of the duals, add in a colorless land and make it a 6/8 split and tell me how often I can hit BBRR perfectly with my 4th land.
Yeah, he's too conditional for most traditional cubes, but I could see him doing better in a multiplayer or EDH cube where things move slower and bigger bodies are more important.
