The moment I saw Trostani getting spoiled, I knew I had to create a deck around it. I wondered a bit, what would be a good build...then I looked at my Opal-Eye, Konda's Yojimbo deck which was based on lifegain, damage prevention and winning through Felidar Sovereign, Test of Endurance or Ajani Whitemane's avatar.
Using this as a base, I added Green stuff, got some better defenders and stuff in and well, here's the draft so far. Keep in mind that this deck is built not with Populate in mind, but rather its lifegain.
The strategy is simple: Gain life, stall out the game and snatch the win with Felidar or Test. Since you're not a threat yourself, opponents tend to kind of ignore you. Take that to your advantage.

since you are into the stall idea, how about Maze of Ith? last thing you need is a big flying beefcake comming your way. Also High Market to prevent the inevitable tucking of the commander. Also thinking Green Sun's Zenith should be in there somewhere.

Added Green Sun's Zenith, High Market, Miren, the Moaning Well, Vesuva and Maze of Ith in exchange for a few plains, forests and a Wooly Razorback. Thanks for the tips.

Serra Ascendant looks awesome here. It's pretty good in most decks with white in them, but with all the lifegain it'll stay relevant longer. Eladamri's Call is solid utility and it finds one of your win conditions.

You would never guess, at the terrifying sight of the man, that Hunding was as charming a companion as one could wish for.
I'm back. I totally forgot about Vesuva, nice add. I was thinking about Ensnaring Bridge, depending on whether you like dumping your hand. Plus it gives a target for disruption over other conditions you might have.
