MTG Salvation

As indicated by the title of this thread, the theme that I had in mind when putting it together was playing the deck of a opponent, or all my opponents. I like the idea of being able to kill legends for nothing, and it turns out that the ability to copy Primeval Titan fifteen times can be really good. The deck ended up turning out really well and is amazingly fun to play. Any suggestions, though, would be loved.



This deck is oddly consistent. The low mana base tends to be not a huge problem what with the huge amount of card draw. I like seeing other people's reactions to the use of their own cards. It amuses me.

What? No, it's banned now. As of the 20th, it's officially on the banlist, meaning it can't be played in any EDH deck. This is of course unless your playgroup says otherwise. If your playgroup runs Primeval Titan anyway, feel free to copy Prime Time.

On another note, how is Ancestral Vision working for you? I've never used it as the suspend on it's rather daunting. Does it work?

It works great. It is amazing T1 and late game it never hurts. Suspend in general is a good mechanic for getting things on the cheap. Deep-Sea Kraken is great for this too. There are reasons that Jhoria of the Ghitu is an amazing commander.

Ever thought about putting in Spellweaver Volute?

Why not be able to steal spells from their library?

I wasn't running the Volute, as much as I love it, because I only have 8 sorceries. Still worth considering, though. I'll see. Any suggestions as to what to pull?

I was considering the Shackles. The Remora isn't really something I like, what with the upkeep cost. I was looking at a few bounces for the deck, but hadn't done any changing there yet. My meta is really combo heavy. It tends to run slow, and people who play too much speed get lots of targeting. We don't have any stax for the most part as it is considered un-fun. We actually play for points for the most part, and screwing people's land base loses you points, so that doesn't happen much. There are some counters, but not too much.

I know your deal is pretty much copying your opponents stuff, but I wanted to suggest Volrath's Shapeshifter. Then you might also have two copies, for every one you play.

Also, Gilded Drake?

Carry Away can be nice if you see a lot of Greaves/Boots or Swords of Junk and Stuff in your playgroup.

Unfortunately not, I lack the skills to pay the deck building bills... I just knew that Volute fits the theme (I have a soft spot for the passive aggressive "theft" deck, too).

I had looked at Volrath's Shapeshifter and considered it. I may give it another look. The original reason it didn't make it in was the fact that Kozilek, Butcher of Truth is my only graveyard recursion, so tossing a creature can be bad. On the other hand it's funny to have them kill something, only for me to play another immediately. Also, it dies if a shapeshifter is ever on top. A fair number of my creatures have 0/0 printed on them.
Carry Away is perfect and I had never seen it before. Thanks a lot for the suggestion. That will have to go in.
Gilded Drake will be in as soon as I can afford to drop $30 on it.

Somehow I missed that Steal Artifact was a thing. That's going in soon. Also Telemin Performance got added to the deck as soon as I saw it. Took out Mind Unbound for it. So there that is. I had a really funny game where I had three Caged Suns that I stole and copied, 15 lands in play, and Capsize, Stolen Goods, and Telemin Performance in hand with an opponent's Twilight Shepherd stolen and copied with Sakashima's Student. I cast Stolen Goods and Telemin Performance enough times to play another player's entire deck. It was amazingly effective.
