[GTC] - Buy-a-Box Promo: Nightveil Specter

I just put in for the Buy-a-Box promo and come to find out the card is called Nightveil Specter. Sounds like a Dimir card.

The last few buy-a-box promos have been good. Hopefully random discard makes a return! Yeah

On second thought, it sounds like something along the lines of Shadowmage Infiltrator..? Maybe a combo of the typical Specter ability and unblockability or evasion?

Sounds Orzhov to me, but I can see it being Dimir or just black.

Most specters have the opponent discard cards, so If I had to pick a guild, I'd say Dimir.

Specters are nearly always monoblack. Those which aren't have a clue to the other color in their name, with the exception of Doomsday Specter.

So I'd say 90% chance of being monoblack.

I'd guess it associates with Orzhov more than Dimir...what with the ghost stuff those crazies are into and all

The a spector seems to fit into orzhov more than dimir, but dimir could definitely have something like that. It could also be guildless, but I don't think they would do that.

Blazing, Sedraxis, and Blizzard would like a word with you. It's more like 75% chance lol.

Also we have Shimian Specter right now for "extraction."

Sounds like they're falling behing on the "all buy-a-box promos are white" front...unless it's Orzhov.

When ~ Deals combat damage to a player, that player discards a card at random.

My guess. Maybe a bit good, but I think 3 mana for a 2/2 to only discard 1 card isn't good enough in today's game. a 1/1 for UB (hard to cast) that makes discard sounds a lot better in my opinion.

A bit? 2 mana and random. I'd reason it's a bit more than a bit too good.

Also that's hardly blue.

"Nightveil" definitely makes me think Dimir. Color is less definite, either black or blue-black, but almost certainly Dimir-aligned either way.
